John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

We banned a member today. No names needed. However, the user came back under several alias. Means were taken to ensure they do not come back. During the process, I needed to delete several posts made by them which were not Christ like. In my attempt there was a malfunction, and it seems that the last two months my own posts were deleted.

Now given the series of events, I thought we were compromised or hacked. I no longer think so, but if you receive any abnormal emails directly from me, or another member, please report it. Otherwise, note some threads are missing my input after I commented. They are no longer present, and may create confusion in some of the threads I engaged in.

God bless,

Probably unrelated, but I tried to post a thread and got an error message. After a few times I exited the thread to see if I came back in again maybe it would work but it was gone after I exited the first time. I guess it could have been deleted but I see why it would've been.

    • Is Reddit a bad forum site for religious people to be at?

Hi. my names Dennis from sweden and im new to this forum. Since i turned 14, i considered myself as a christian. although i would say im more of a agnostic theist than a gnostic theist since im not 100%.     I've heard from a guy some years ago that big forums like reddit are bad for religious people because everyone there are hostile towards religion while religious people are a minority.    I dont know anything about reddit apart thats its a regular forum where you can talk about anything, similar to the swedish forum Flashback but is it true that Reddit are dominated by antitheists?   Im been exposed to antitheism by watching some of their videos on youtube like some guy named darkmatter or something that ends up insulting any religious people by classifying them as stupid or delusional, it sickens me how their subs applause them for it and it disgusts me just like any other intolerant movements.   Is there any religious people who can share their experience with reddit?

    • TGC Korea Provides New Forum for Gospel-Centered Content

Dear friends, It is my great delight to announce the launch of our next international chapter, TGC Korea. I’ve had the privilege over the last six years to network with like-minded men who are committed to gospel centrality, primarily through City to City Asia. Last week, by God’s grace, we were able to establish a TGC Korea council in Seoul with nine pastors from various denominations. You might not be aware, but Christianity in South Korea is in serious decline, with a little less than 17 percent of the population claiming to be Christians. And only 1.7 percent of those in their 20s actually attend church. TGC Korea’s vision is to carry out the mission of TGC by creating a platform—through editorial content and training venues—to equip Christians. We want to encourage many to move away from either soft-legalism on the one hand or easy-believism on the other. Our staff at TGC Korea has been working tirelessly for the launch of our TGC Korea website. It is our desire to provide gospel-centered content for the Korean church and for Korean-speaking diaspora Christians. Please join us in prayer and help us promote our network and website with friends and family members who would benefit from our editorial resources. I’m also happy to announce that Don Carson, Phil Ryken, and Bryan Chapell will be joining me for our very first TGC Korea conference, October 30 to November 1, 2019, in Seoul. If you know anyone who would be interested in hearing more about our ministry, encourage them to get in contact with me. Stephen Um View the full article

    • Name of Christian Science forum

I believe that the name of this forum should be changed.  Calling it Christian Science makes it appear that we are discussing the teaching of Mary Baker Eddy.

    • Greetings, newbie on this forum

Good morning brothers and sisters, I hope all is well in this little community!  I am a bit saddened because of recently spending almost 3 months on another Christian site.  I know one needs some pretty thick skin to take some of the barbs I did from the Catholics---and that was an issue I avoided for the most part.  I loved that board and many on it became my friends.  I think it's time for a break.  I will not leave them altogether but, for now just need to stay away and see what some other brothers and sisters are all about! I have been following Jesus Christ probably since a small child as I would always wonder about our origin, even at that age-used to really wonder as most children probably do-'where did God come from"  "Who made God though"?   I was raised Catholic until I was around 12 <--- my grandmother was not happy about that!  When I went to my moms new Church-1st time setting foot in a non-catholic Church building...even though I am not Lutheran and there were some Catholicy things there-I just loved it!  Went for a bit through my teens...left it to go out and just plain sin, bars, drinking, dancing, smoking...but...HE never stopped drawing me, fast forward to 1992-a friend and I went to an Assembly s of God service one day and stayed there for about 5-6 years, there was a split there all over a man and a woman who joined the Church-they ousted our pastor, more left than not.  I was one who left, as well as my good friend....so, we flailed around for a bit being un-Churched for a couple years.  I live in an area that is lousy with RC Churches and I knew that was no longer for me.  So, being without a local body, I had a handful of friends who were Christian, TG!- we were kind of like getting blown this way and that with all of our "gee, wonder what this or that means" kind of thing-we had no direction, we did not under how the Holy Spirit works through us, we didn't understand ANYTHING!  Lol..Okay, this is becoming a Tomb  Sorry.  Bottom line. last 3 years I have found a wonder Baptist Church just down the street from me and have been a member since last year.   I Do not agree with every single thing my wonderful pastor believes,  he knows our differences, but he speaks Gods word and does a fine job, he never misses giving the true gospel so...any doctrine that has nothing to do with Christ and His gospel, for me, I will not argue with anyone about...causes strife-IMHO.  Too easy to get feathers ruffled. Peace and Grace to you all. Submission one
