John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Justme is doing so much better

Recommended Posts

Today is Friday Sept. 15. 2017. I was able to sleep most of the night on my back, with little pain from the surgery. The spinal cord simulator is such a blessing...no more pain! I am so blessed, Praise the Lord Jesus Christ!

Thank you all for your prayers and love shown to me. My wife is beyond wonderful. she is my care giver that does so much more than I can ever thank her for.

Blessings to you all!

My kidneys have now taken a serious turn for the worst. My kidneys are dumping magnesium. I have been taking 630cmg of magnesium a day for several years, but now the kidneys are dumping it instead of holding it. The next step looks like weekly IV's of magnesium. This is a very serious situation as it means my kidneys are now entering a much slippery slope. I am very discouraged.   Please pray for my depression

    • Thank you for your prayers for Justme

On Saturday afternoon I began to feel less pain. On Monday I went to Same Day Surgery. I had an Xray and they told me I was still needing surgery. They had me get dressed with that pretty gown and they put in the IV. They said they were ready to take me in. When the Doctor came in and he said he had reread to Xray and could not see the kidney stones. He said there was no reason for the surgery now. In two months they would do a CAT Scan then and see me then.   PRAISE THE LORD! I did not have to have surgery. Your prayers helped and I deeply thank you.
