Christian Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Joel Osteen Says God Will 'Pay Back' Hurricane Harvey Victims

Recommended Posts

Pastor Joel Osteen said Sunday that God would “pay back” Hurricane Harvey victims for what they lost in the storm.

Joel Osteen is a vile wolf in sheeps clothing. His misuse of scripture to rob from the poor to feed his riches is disgusting.

God will use Harvey to build up his chosen people, but monetary wealth is the very least of God's concern. What concerns God is his children's relationship with Him. God does what He does for His glory, not for our physical comforts.

My prayer is that the charlatan, Joel Osteen, would be revealed as the wolf he is and then that God would bring him to repentance and to truth.

The big problem with Osteen is that most of what comes out of his mouth sounds good, but it ultimately is very misleading. Personally, I would not consider the messages he gives during the services at his church sermons. They are more akin to scripture enhanced motivational speeches. I would be very interested to see him debate an actual theologian.
