John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Does the US simply wait until one gets fired over (or "at") Guam, Anchorage, Honolulu, etc.?

Yeah, maybe we should fire a couple across North Korea, let them land in the ocean on the other side. I vote yes!

(It'll probably make the Chinese nervous. Maybe they'll shut down NK, cut off ALL the resources they provide to that lunatic "on the throne" in NK.)

My speculation is that our Nation's military is in shambles at the moment and needs rebuilding after 8 years under Obama. I am unfamiliar with whether increased budget spending has been passed to rebuild our military? I think a North Korean war is going to take massive amounts of resources.

God bless,

William

No doubt. Sequestration crippled us. Our military, all branches, is training using used parts. I don't know what happened to the $59 billion Trump called for. In any event, it can't match the stupidity of Congress and the waste and mismanagement of the responsible Cabinet.

    • Does America have any right to ambush North Korea?

America is an economic giant and a millitary super power and what north korea is trying to do is unâcceptable. all in all, i feel that America should keep off and let United Nations handle that. It feels fair when an unbiased party deals with the issue.

    • Ohio Hospital Fires Antisemitic Doctor Who Said She’d Give Jews The Wrong Medication

By Joshua Gill - An Ohio hospital announced Monday that it had fired a doctor for making anti-Semitic comments and promising to give Jewish patients the wrong medication. The Cleveland Clinic said in its statement that Lara Kollab, 27, who worked at the clinic from July to September 2018, had a history of making violently anti-Semitic comments on social media and that her beliefs conflicted with those of the clinic. An online compilation of Kollab’s tweets showed that she often referred to Jews as “dogs,” invoked Allah to kill them, and denigrated both Israel and the U.S. “Cleveland Clinic was recently made aware of comments posted to social media by a former employee,” the hospital’s Monday statement reads. “This individual was employed as a supervised resident at our hospital from July to September 2018. She is no longer working at Cleveland Clinic. In no way do these beliefs reflect those of our organization. We fully embrace diversity, inclusion and a culture of safety and respect across our entire health system,” the statement adds. Kollab has since deleted her tweets, but Canary Mission, a website devoted to exposing those who openly support antisemitism or terrorist organizations, compiled, translated, and took screenshots of some of them. They show calls for violence against the Jews, claims that the Holocaust is exaggerated, and open support for terrorists. She also reportedly tweeted: “@ShabanSalya Allah yo5od el yahood 3ashan enbattel nettar nroo7 3nd hel wes5een -___- [May Allah take back (end the lives) of the Jews so we stop being forced to go to those unclean ones].” “shoof, ah 7efa 7elwe bes 7efa kolha yahood klab w looks like America, ya3ni wasn’t that special to me [look, Haifa is sweet (nice), but it’s full of Jewish dogs, and it looks like America, meaning, it wasn’t that special to me].” “I don’t mean to sound insensitive but I have a REALLY hard time feeling bad about Holocaust seeing as the ppl who were in it now kill my ppl.” She also reportedly tweeted in praise of terrorists like Khader Adnan, a senior member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. “#KhaderAdnan is dying so we can live. #Palestine #KhaderExists,” Kollab wrote. Kollab also expressed support for the Palestine Right to Return Coalition and the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against Israeli businesses. Strangely, Kollab graduated from Touro College Of Osteopathic Medicine with a D.O. in 2018, which is an expressly Jewish Orthodox institution. While Kollab is no longer employed at the hospital, her medical license is still active until 2021, according to Cleveland 19 News. • Otto Warmbier’s Family Wants $1 Billion From North Korea Over Son’s Death

By Neetu Chandak - The family of Otto Warmbier wants $1 billion in damages from North Korea over their son’s death, according to a testimony Wednesday. Warmbier was a University of Virginia student who allegedly stole a propaganda poster while touring the country in January 2016. The student was convicted and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor by the state for the alleged crime in March 2016. He was released with the help of U.S. President Donald Trump in June 2017, but Otto died a week after his return in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Ohio. Those seeking repayment for the damages from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea include parents Fred and Cindy Warmbier along with Otto Warmbier’s estate, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. “We’re here because we don’t fear North Korea anymore,” Fred Warmbier said, according to WaPo. The testimony took place in front of Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, WaPo reported. The Warmbiers said they wanted the judge to hold North Korea accountable for holding hostage, torturing and killing Otto Warmbier. “We are not going to be the victims,” Cindy Warmbier said, according to The Hill. “I want them [North Korea] to feel victimized.” The Warmbiers are also asking for $46 million to make up for the family’s suffering, The Hill reported. Hamilton County, Ohio, coroner Lakshmi Sammarco said Otto Warmbier died from brain damage due to lack of oxygen and blood, NPR reported. North Korea has repeatedly denied torturing Otto Warmbier, claiming the student developed a rare form of food poisoning called botulism and went into a coma after ingesting a sleeping pill. Medical officials, however, did not find any proof to support the country’s claim. Medical personnel also did not find signs of physical abuse like abnormal scars or bone fractures. Experts who testified Wednesday said many methods of torture in North Korea do not leave a trace, WaPo reported. They added that Otto Warmbier could have been abused for political purposes. Otto Warmbier’s parents claimed their son returned to the U.S. blind and deaf. Fred Warmbier added that his son’s teeth looked like they were rearranged with pliers. Fred and Cindy Warmbier first filed the lawsuit against North Korea on April 26.
