John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

    • DeSantis Suspends Sheriff After Poor Response To Parkland Shooting

By Neetu Chandak - Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis officially suspended Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel on Friday after his poor response to the Parkland high school shooting Feb. 14, 2018. “Effective immediately, I am officially suspending Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel for his repeated failures, incompetence and neglect of duty,” DeSantis tweeted Friday. Israel reportedly told his officers he was suspended, but DeSantis had not announced any such decision, The Daily Caller previously reported. Calls to suspend the sheriff were immediate after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission released a report detailing the failures that happened the day of the shooting. Revelations included police not going after suspected gunman Nikolas Cruz in a timely manner and chaotic radio communication, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported. Seventeen people died on the day of the massacre. Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience. • Chuck and Nancy botched the response to Trump’s address – and social media let them know it

By R. Mitchell - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer were given national air time equal to respond to President Trump’s address to the nation on border security – and… they blew it. Chuck and Nancy made an interesting choice for decor for their appearance – a single podium for the two Democrats to share – sorta. Fans of the two politicians chimed in on just how they presented themselves. Several who watched found the pair’s unsettlingly like getting “a talk” from their parents. When all else fails, bring out the tv/movie memes: Chuck and Nancy botched the response to Trump’s address – and social media let them know it is original content from Conservative Daily News - Where Americans go for news, current events and commentary they can trust - Conservative News Website for U.S. News, Political Cartoons and more. • In 1954, President Eisenhower Faced a Border Invasion… His Response Puts Obama to Shame

President Barack Hussein Obama is by no means the first president to ever have had to deal with an immigration crisis on our borders.   In 1954, a year after Dwight Eisenhower became president, over 3 million illegal immigrants had turned America into their home. Furthermore, the border “was as porous as a spaghetti sieve,” so more illegals were constantly arriving.   Sound familiar? Here’s the difference though between President Obama and President Eisenhower. Instead of dealing with illegal immigration through appeasement, Eisenhower chose to deal with it with the determiniation of a true leader.   With the help of retired Gen. Joseph “Jumpin’ Joe” Swing, commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Eisenhower launched a ground-breaking capture and deport operation to root out illegals.   A squadron of about 1000 Border Patrol agents began sweeping through the most badly hit states in search of illegals. Within months, millions of illegals were either caught and forcibly removed or voluntarily left out of outright fear.   Why fear? Because those illegals who were caught were made to endure hell on their way back to Mexico.   Don Coppock, who worked as a Border Patrol agent during this time period, described the journey back home that the Mexicans had to endure as “a rough trip” — and one that they “did not like.”   Furthermore, illegals weren’t just left on the border. Rather, they were set free in the deepest and most dangerous parts of Mexico.   By the late 1950s, illegal immigration into the United States had dropped by a whopping 95 percent. Clearly, Eisenhower’s tough-as-nails approach worked like a charm (H/T The Christian Science Monitor).   Here’s the thing. According to those retired agents who participated in Eisenhower’s operation, the same thing could easily be done again.   “Some say we cannot send 12 million illegals now in the United States back where they came from,” a retired agent known as Mr. Edwards told reporters. “Of course we can!”   Indeed. It would take nothing more than a leader who’s unafraid of sticking it to those who have the audacity to violate our laws.   Unfortunately, Barack Hussein Obama’s is anything but an actual leader.

    • DoD: U.S. and Allies Overflew Ukraine in Response to Unprovoked Russian Aggression

By DoD - Today, the United States and Allies conducted an extraordinary flight under the Open Skies Treaty. The timing of this flight is intended to reaffirm U.S. commitment to Ukraine and other partner nations.‎ “The United States is resolute in our support for the security of European nations,” the Department of Defense said in a statement. “Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukrainian naval vessels in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait is a dangerous escalation in a pattern of increasingly provocative and threatening activity.” “The United States seeks a better relationship with Russia, but this cannot happen while its unlawful and destabilizing actions continue in Ukraine and elsewhere,” the DoD added. The Treaty on Open Skies establishes a regime of unarmed aerial observation flights over the territories of its signatories. The Treaty is designed to enhance mutual understanding and confidence by giving all participants, regardless of size, a direct role in gathering information through aerial imaging on military forces and activities of concern to them. Open Skies is one of the most wide-ranging international arms control efforts to date to promote openness and transparency in military forces and activities. 34 state parties signed on to the Open Skies Treaty including : Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic,  Denmark (including Greenland),  Estonia, Finland, France, the Republic of Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States. • The Historical Reliability of the Gospels: A Response to the Influence of Bart Ehrman

A Guest Post by Peter Kozushko Since 2005, Bart Ehrman, a distinguished critical New Testament scholar, has authored four New York Times best sellers challenging the historical accuracy of the Bible. That is a significant readership for a Biblical scholar. Ehrman has succeeded in popularizing the efforts of The Jesus Seminar which sought to undermine confidence in the Gospels a decade before. Ehrman may have also won a significant number of converts. A 2016 report by the American Bible Society revealed that the percentage of American Bible skeptics rose over the previous six years from 12 percent to 22 percent. Whether a correlation exist between Ehrman’s popularity and this sudden increase in Bible skepticism in America, Ehrman has certainly had an impact. It is common place in our day to hear skeptics credit Ehrman for their personal doubts and questions about the historical accuracy of the Bible. In recent years this has been my experience conversing with skeptics and my latest doctoral work on the historical reliability of the Gospels has introduced me to many more. How should Bible believing Christians respond to Ehrman’s influence? View the full article
