John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Prayer Requests for TonyT

I know that my Aunt is not going to make it and is currently in the hospital now. I knew that she belonged to a church in the past and I talked to my mom about them sending a chaplain to her but ultimately that is not up to me I guess. Please pray for the salvation of my Aunt, her name is Barbara.

Chap. Bell

"The LORD that healeth thee." I pray for his Aunt now, asking you to move in her favor. Lord God, touch Her with Thou healing hands, and with Her faith let it be done now. I give You all the glory, in Jesus name. Amen

GOD BLESS,

I am also worried about screwing up my prayers and I am worried that I will commit an unpardonable sin, please pray against all of that evil stuff ever happening in my life.

Chap. Bell

First, I must address your two question, before I pray for you.

(A). You are worried about blundering your prayers. "Do not lose heart," a born again Christian can not blunder his prayers, because the Holy Spirit oversee a believer prayer.

Paul said, "likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." Rom. 8:26

(B). You are worried about committing the unpardonable sin. Again, "do not lose heart," a born again Christian cannot commit the unpardonable sin. Born again mean the Holy Spirit live in us. Therefore, how can you sin against Him (Holy Spirit). Only unsaved people can commit this sin. Finally, the unpardonable sin, and Grace cannot coexist at the same time in this world.

Our Creator, I pray for him that he my become stronger in You. Let him know, You are in control of all things, and all evils must bow down to Your will. God please bind evil in his life, and I will make known Thou name among men. I pray in Jesus name. Amen

GOD BLESS,

I am worried that I will sin against God because I am not happy with the race he created me to be. I am worried that I will curse against God or commit blasphemy. Please pray that all of these evil things never happen.

While you are praying to God seeking reconciliation with who He created you to be you must also identify why you feel He somehow owes you something in regard to creating you as a specific race. God owes you nothing, yet has blessed you with everything you currently, and will eventually, have.

Instead of being concerned with sinning against God about who He made you to be, I would suggest looking for ways to embrace His blessings and finding ways to use them to bless others.

Please pray that I never sin against God and that I never go against one of His' testimonies. I have fear that this will happen because I struggle with it in my thoughts. Please pray this not just for me, but for all human beings including me.

When you confessed Jesus as Savior He erased your sin. If you "go against" His testimonies, repent (1 John 1:9) and rest in Him.:RpS_thumbsup:

Red, white, black and yellow (and everything in between), we are ALL part of the same race Tony, the race that Jesus loved and died for. Be exceedingly glad and thankful that you are counted among us (I know that I am, as a blessed race we humans surely are, yes ).

Yours and His,

David

Philippians 4

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.

7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Please pray that I never react in a way that is sinful towards God. Even if I am being chewed out by someone or even if I am arguing with someone.

What we say is a product of what fills our mind. The best way to avoid saying evil things is to fill our minds with the Word of God.

It is a good thing to do.

Please pray that I only Worship the Lord Jesus and no one else. I have temptations to worship someone or something who I am not supposed to. Please pray that what I just mentioned NEVER happens.

Who won and how will that cause you to sin?

The ventriloquist won and I do not know yet how it will cause me to sin.

Why do you even think it is possible that it can cause you to sin? I don't understand the reason for a lot of the requests you make.

    • Predestination and prayer

      Those of us who are saved were chosen for salvation before the world was even created.   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.   Ephesians 1:3-6 ESV   Since God has already decided who will be saved and who won’t there is no point in praying for the salvation of another person.  If he has been predestined for salvation he will be saved; if he hasn’t been predestined he won’t be.  Our prayers will have no effect.  This seems like an unanswerable argument against praying that someone be saved.  But Paul, the author of the above quote, wasn’t persuaded by it.  He prayed for the salvation of his fellow Israelites.   Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.  Romans 10:1-3 ESV   Why would Paul pray for their salvation if God had already determined whether they would be saved?  He understood that God doesn’t experience time the same way we do.  We only experience one point in time.  Some events are in the past and we can do nothing to change them.  Some are in the future and the choices we make now can affect them.  God doesn’t experience time this way.  To him the past, present, and future are all the same.  One of his attributes is omnipresence.  His omnipresence is temporal as well as spatial.  He not only exists everywhere at the same time, he also occupies all of time.   The things we do can only affect the future.  Our prayers can affect the past.  If you know people who are unsaved, pray for them.  God can answer the prayer you make now by selecting that person to be saved before the creation of the world.   Before they call I will answer;
while they are yet speaking I will hear.  Isaiah 65:24 ESV

    • Acting Border Patrol Chief For Rio Grande Valley Requests 120 Mile Border Barrier

By Nick Givas - Acting border patrol chief for the Rio Grande Valley, Raul Ortiz, told “Fox & Friends” he wants to see another 120 miles of border fencing in his sector and an increase in the number of agents. “Right now we would like to see about another 120 miles of fencing in this sector alone. We’ve got 277 miles of river country. It winds an awful lot,” Ortiz said Friday. “But if we were able to get the infrastructure, a few more agents and certainly the technology, I like our chances against the transnational criminal organizations out there,” he continued. “What I say to anybody who says we don’t need those things, come walk in my shoes.” “Fox & Friends” co-host Pete Hegseth said Ortiz appreciates President Donald Trump’s hands-on approach to the border crisis and said anyone who knows border security will stipulate that a wall is absolutely necessary. “[Ortiz] went on to say he really appreciates this president for the first time any president — willing to come down to the border, talk to the agents and the real experts. When I asked him, when I said, ‘Hey, critics of president say that they’ve got experts that tell them that walls aren’t necessary,’ he just laughed and said I’ve never met these experts,” Hegseth said. “Anyone who’s been here knows you got to have a wall.” Co-host Brain Kilmeade said the wall is a simple solution and is being embraced by border experts from across the political spectrum. “The former border patrol chief under [former President Barack] Obama also says you need a fence. No one says it’s a cure-all. They talk about the need for a border. What it does is you put sensors on these slats and on these fences, that’ll give both sides what they want,” Kilmeade said. “You got technology as well as at the very least a delay of those coming here,” he added. “Not all with evil intentions — some just looking to come here. But you just combine the both. That’s what’s so frustrating. This is not hard.” Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
