John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Dan 6:4-5

Daniel 6:4-5 King James Version (KJV) 4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. Daniel 6:4-5 CLV 4 Then the chancellors and satraps are seeking to find a pretext against Daniel in regard to the administration of the kingdom. Yet no pretext or corruption at all can they find, forasmuch as he is faithful, and no carelessness or corruption at all is found in him." 5 Then these masters are saying, "We will not find any pretext against this Daniel, unless in the edict of his Eloah we find it against him." These are my thoughts, please share yours. 4 The people did the exact same thing with Jesus with no results as well, let us live in a way where the world can’t find fault against us. They may have been jealous they may have wanted more power themselves but they would rather bring Daniel down rather then build themselves up how often times do we act in that way but we try to see them as an example to live better for the Lord instead. 5 So they decided to attack his relationship with the Lord because they knew he would put the Lord first, we may be faced with this and we will be attacked because of our faith in Him. We should put God first and then He will see us thru the attack we face.
