John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

CNN Broken News

A left-wing billionaire gave $100,000 towards an online misinformation campaign that mimicked Russian interference operations — but if you only get your news from CNN, then you have no idea that happened.

Linkedin co-founder Reid Hoffman, an early investor in Facebook, was behind a six-figure misinformation campaign that involved falsely linking Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore to Russian influence operations during Alabama’s December 2017 special election.

Hoffman funded Democratic operatives who staged a “false flag” — in their own words — meant to falsely link Moore’s campaign to Russian bots in order to boost Democratic candidate Doug Jones’ Senate campaign.

Jones went on to win the election after defeating Moore in an upset.

Hoffman devoted the same amount of money toward the misinformation campaign as actual Russian operatives are said to have spent on a Facebook influence operation during the 2016 operation, according to reporting by The New York Times.

But CNN’s readers and viewers have been kept in the dark about the domestic misinformation campaign.

Since news broke of the “false flag” operation on Dec. 19, CNN has yet to devote a single story — or even a single second on television — informing its readers of the Democratic misinformation operation, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation search on the cable news aggregation website Grabien.

CNN vice president Barbara Levin did not return a request for comment on her network’s absent coverage on the story.

CNN hasn’t touched the story, even as it has undergone several developments.

Hoffman apologized on Wednesday for funding the misinformation campaign. Hoffman’s apology came after Facebook suspended the operatives he paid for their role in the misinformation campaign.

And yet, as of Thursday morning, CNN’s readers and viewers remained completely in the dark about the domestic misinformation campaign in the Alabama Senate election.

The Alabama operation isn’t the only Democratic misinformation campaign that CNN has ignored.

CNN also failed to publish any articles on the fact that North Dakota Democrats falsely targeted hunters in the state with misinformation meant to keep them from voting in the 2018 midterm elections.

Democrats’ North Dakota arm targeted hunters with false advertisements informing them that they could lose their out-of-state hunting licenses if they voted in the 2018 elections.

Fact-checkers, including the left-leaning PolitiFact, found that claim to be false.

    • New Book Refutes Official Story About Thai Cave Rescue. The Truth Is More Disturbing

By Chris White - The story behind the effort to rescue children stuck in Thai cave in 2018 is more disturbing than the tale government officials told the parents of the kids, according to a new book discussing the mission. Members of the Wild Boars soccer team were not trained to dive and swim in a buddy system out of the cave, ABC Australia Southeast Asia reporter Liam Cochrane claims in his new book, “The Cave.” Instead, they were drugged, handcuffed, and carried out of the winding tunnel. “To calm nerves, the parents were told the boys were being taught how to dive and the media reported that each of them would be tethered to an air hose and then swim out with one rescue diver in front and another behind,” Cochrane writes in his book. “This was untrue.” Media shared images demonstrating how the 12 boys dressed in wetsuits and flippers would swim through the labyrinth tethered to expert divers. But the divers responsible for rescuing the children knew that such a plan would not work given the level of expertise required for the trip. “Those who’d been inside the flooded tunnels knew there was no way a child who had never dived before could make it through the muddy and treacherous obstacle course,” Cochrane writes. “The only hope was to sedate them, put oxygen-fed masks with silicone seals over their faces and let the expert cave divers carry them out.” One boy Cochrane called Note was one of the first members of the soccer team to be extracted. He was given a sedative, then injected in each leg with ketamine, an anesthesia, by Australian cave diver, Dr. Richard Harris, until the 14-year-old boy fell into unconsciousness. Note was then put into a diving suit, had an air tank strapped to his chest, and a small full-face mask fitted. He began breathing normally within a half a minute, after which the divers handcuffed the boy to prevent him from ripping at his mask. The boys were later treated for dehydration, malnutrition, oxygen deprivation and other conditions. Doctors at the hospital in Chiang Rai, where the boys were treated, monitored the kids for symptoms of diseases caused by animals and fungi in the cave. The cave rescue itself became a source of controversy after tech entrepreneur Elon Musk called British diver Vernon Unsworth, who assisted in the rescue, a pedophile. Musk was upset after the veteran diver called a submarine Silicon Valley billionaire’s team developed a “PR stunt.” Musk tweeted on July 6 that he was sending engineers from his companies SpaceX and The Boring Co. to assist in the rescue in any way that they could. The Tesla CEO later apologized. Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience. • Searching for the Story of Home

“Everyone gets home in the kingdom of God. It doesn’t matter if you’re married or unmarried, have children or don’t have children, or are divorced or not, home was God’s first gift to his people. We’re going to go back to the beginning in Genesis to see that home was a gift that God had given to his people. And we can look forward to the end of the story, the new beginning, where God reestablishes home for his people.” — Jen Pollock Michel Date: June 15, 2018 Event: The Gospel Coalition Women’s Conference 2018 You can listen to this episode of The Gospel Coalition podcast here.
