John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

This would not surprise me.

Welcome to this Cyber Monday morning. Elon Musk thinks there's a big chance he'd move to Mars, there's a hotel with a gadget...

Somehow I am picturing Elon Musk as the first person to successfully make the trip to Mars, who will then shake off the shackles of the governments of this world and setup his own.

It is somewhat amazing that I have so many kids and I don't think any of them know who the backyardigans are.

I have one daughter and it was fun dancing around to the song when she was 5, but for some reason when I try to do so now (about 10 years later) I get the look of shock.

At least it is not as ridiculously annoying as Barnie or the Teletubbies.  Those came out when I was in high school.
