John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Ben & Jerry's Says It's 'Comfortable' Partnering With Women's March Despite Farrakhan Ties, Anti-Semitism

Recommended Posts

Ben & Jerry's says it has no plans to sever ties with the Women's March, despite its deep connections to rabid anti-Semite preacher and Nation of Islam head, Louis Farrakhan, and even told reporters they're "comfortable" handing over donations to the Women's March -- and its leader Linda Sarsour -- despite the claims.

    • Another Women’s March Chapter Cancels Protest After Anti-Semitism Controversy

By Joe Simonson - A planned demonstration in New Orleans has been canceled by the Louisiana Chapter of the liberal organization Women’s March, citing recent accusations of anti-Semitism by the group’s founders. The protest, initially planned for Jan. 19, is the latest casualty following shocking reporting that some of the most senior members of Women’s March discussed conspiracy theories about Jews and had close ties to the radical Nation of Islam. Rather than go ahead with the New Orleans protest, organizers said they will instead embark on a “listening tour” throughout the state. Leaders of the Louisiana chapter also said the anti-Semitism controversy potentially hampered their fundraising efforts. Normal costs for such protests, organizers said, total over $12,000. Their latest months-long fundraising campaign raised a mere $600. Over 10,000 people joined the first New Orleans Women’s March in 2017. “It is important for everyone to reach out into our local communities and find ways to get involved in the meantime,” a statement from the group on Facebook said. “There are many advocacy groups doing great work in our state that should be supported with your time and money.” Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience. • Planned Parenthood ‘Proud’ To Stand With Women’s March Amid Anti-Semitism Controversy

By Peter Hasson - Planned Parenthood is standing by the Women’s March, even as accusations of anti-Semitism roil the left-wing activist group. An investigation published by Tablet Magazine on Monday revealed Women’s March leaders repeatedly made anti-Semitic remarks, including spreading conspiracy theories about Jews being responsible for the slave trade. The investigation also revealed that ties between Women’s March leaders and Nation of Islam — a notoriously racist and anti-Semitic organization — go even deeper than previously known. But Planned Parenthood is proudly standing with Women’s March, Planned Parenthood communications director Erica Sackin said in a statement to left-wing website Refinery29 on Thursday. “Over the last two years, we’ve seen unprecedented attacks on our health and rights from the Trump-Pence administration. The Women’s March has become a symbol of our collective resistance to these damaging and discriminatory policies and Planned Parenthood is proud to once again, join our progressive partners for the #WomensWave mobilization to protect and advance the progress we’ve made as a movement dedicated to equity and justice for all people,” Sackin said. The hashtag “#WomensWave” refers to Women’s March’s third annual march against President Donald Trump’s administration. Women’s March previously came under fire over its leaders’ consistent support for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has praised Hitler, referred to Jews as “Satanic” and denounced interracial marriage. Left-wing activist Alyssa Milano withdrew her support for Women’s March in November due to the organization’s ties to Farrakhan The Tablet investigation uncovered further ties between Women’s March leaders and Farrakhan. Women’s March leaders knowingly used Nation of Islam members to handle their security, Tablet reported. Three of Women’s March’s national co-chairs — Tamika Mallory, Carmen Perez and Linda Sarsour — have ties to Farrakhan stretching back to October 2015, when all three attended a rally organized by Farrakhan. Mallory this past February attended a Farrakhan speech, where he praised her by name for her activism. She was seen applauding through the speech, which was laced with anti-Semitism. A month before that, Perez defended Farrakhan in an interview with Refinery29. “In regards to Minister Farrakhan, I think that is a distraction,” Perez said at the time. “People need to understand the significant contributions that these individuals have made to Black and Brown people.” Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience. • Tijuana residents march against caravan...slightly altered

From the 2nd paragraph: They chanted "Mexico! Mexico!" and "yes to migrants, no to invaders!" They sang the national anthem and waved Mexican flags and banners and signs, with messages urging the migrants to go home and urging the government to take action. https://www.desertsun.com/story/news/2018/11/18/protests-tijuana-migrant-caravan-sunday/2047087002/     I wonder what some on the Left would say if the event took place in the USA and it read as follows: They chanted "USA! USA!" and "yes to migrants, no to invaders!" They sang The Star-Spangled Banner and waved American flags and banners and signs, with messages urging the migrants to go home and urging the government to take action.
