John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

  1. Yes, the old Babylon's original rituals and rites of passage, and religious systems were just as flawed as any others out there (without God and Christ) are today. The evil was no less visible or damaging. The Israelites were, in fact, in slavery not just of the body, but also of the mind and soul. For the dark and wicked practices that prevailed in ancient Babylon were a true bondage to the soul...

How has the Southern Baptist Convention changed over the years?

For one thing, the Southern Baptist Convention has certainly become a bit more laid back, especially now more than in any other time in recorded human history of the Southern Baptists since their beginning. This can be both a good thing or a bad thing. For example, now is when the church needs to keep the flame the most. Now is when grace needs to reign as well....

    The Leaven of Synergism

Slavation is the gift, and it is given by grace through faith in that one man alone: the man Christ Jesus. I believe in sola fide, through faith alone, as a precious grace-given gift that we have salvation today. Works cannot save us or get us into the kingdom of God, or into a right standing relationship before God the Father and before His Son Jesus Christ. It is only through faith....

The Pelagian Captivity of the Church

As I have said many a time here, Solo Die Gloria. To God alone be the glory. All things have always tended to have both their beginning and their ending in Him. In the end, it will all come back to give only Him the glory, for He is both the Alpha and the Omega of all.......

    The Arian Controversy

We must hold onto the original and sound teachings of God, through the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit at Pentecost's original outflow. Such outflow was used by God to inspire the original church fathers, of whose blood is the very seed of the church. Do not forget the basic fundamentals......

    Answers to Arminian Arguments

When it comes to many points being argued here, there is one which I cannot but argue for and never against. Earlier in these posts, God's grace as offered to all is mentioned. Just scroll up and you can find it for yourself. I fully defend that God's grace is now available to all Jew and Greek....

    Scripture, Tradition, and Rome

I do not care for the traditions of ancient Rome. I care for what the scriptures have to say. Remember that, at one time, Rome tried to rule the world and remove every single Holy Bible (and even believer in Jesus Christ) from off the face of the earth. Just remember....

Why the Left is Wrong on Every Issue

Hollywood and the liberal arts/liberal media do not care to listen to what is truly going on. That is the issue at stake here. They are of a fallen and satanic nature and will not come to the truth so that their work may be exposed. They prefer to believe a lie...

    First 100 Days Wish List

That is quite a list of 100 petitions, which you have compiled here. It just goes to show the vast amount of needs in our world today, even within America alone. It is staggering to witness. Just remember that no political candidate can fill our Spiritual needs, or is ever perfect....

    Answers to Arminian Arguments

Christ did taste death once and for all, for all. This is for all who are willing to accept the gift of salvation and free eternal, unending, everlasting life. It will always be a choice to accept or reject His love. He cannot force us or make the decision for us. It is ours alone to bear.
  11. When the mind has been refreshed and renewed, truly reformed----and the heart has had a deep and lasting internal change which could only be brought about by the work of the Holy Spirit, and No One else----then that, my friend, is reformed theology in practical terms and on a real level.

    Question about Noah's Ark

We should not make light of Noah's ark, or fail to take it seriously, as some do. Sadly, many these days take Noah's ark as a fictional story with merely a few good lessons to learn. Our God is a consuming fire, and He has a zealous passion for His Word!!!!! What God said, God said.

Give Up on Your Own Self-Righteousness

In a sense, I can see the healthy reality needed for all of this to most effectively work. It is true, when it comes down to the very heart of the matter. Our own righteousness, or feeling of righteousness, cannot save anyone in and of itself. Salvation is a gift. Let God be God.

The Constitution of the United States

The Constitution is to be regarded and respected, even in our currently post-modern society, which has only tended to disregard all former laws and stonemarkers of our forefathers. Truth has always been absolute and not relative. Do not believe the lies out there.....

    Hershey and Child Slavery

Child slavery was never truly approved by God. This was always something forced by man, and man alone. God's intention and design was, after all, for children to be free and to ultimately inherit the kingdom of God. For such belongs to these little ones.....
