John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Most important aspect of a relationship

My immediate elder brother recently wrote a drama script he titled "DIALOGUE". The script centers on the importance of communication in a relationship. When a couple stop speaking or speak less often then there is a problem somewhere. I will try and reveal a little revelation here as I have received it. The importance of verbal communication cannot be over emphasized in a relationship. Can we just try see it this way in relation to Christ as the spoken word....John 1:1. In the beginning was the Word, which according to our belief and interpretation of that scripture that the "Word" mentioned imply "Christ". As Christ is to us as believers, a key factor in maintaining a cordial relationship with God so is communication in form of spoken word a key factor in maintaining a cordial relationship between couples. I could go on and on but i guess I'll just stop right here.

    Coming Alongside

Our greatest pillar of strength ever is Christ. Trust in mortal start always wear out gradually as they begin to perceive your flaws. Only God could give unwavering support despite our constant helplessness. We don't lean on Christ after those we trusted must have deserted us rather we should lean on Him even before they ever consider backing off. That way we feel secured. Though during trying moment we need some physically represented human figure support. And only God could make that happen.

    Non-Christian Friends?

I am a kind of person that bond easily with people both Christians and non Christians because to grow I need my brethren and to fulfill ultimate mandate I have to associate with those without Christ that I may gain them to Christ. My room mate while I was in school was a bad Christian because he clubs, smokes and drinks. But we lived together for two good years and during those times I always show him a better way of life by my lifestyle as a good Christian. But, right now, to the glory of God, because of my way of life while we were together he is a better Christian now. No more cigarettes, alcohol or clubs. But in any case we just have to be very careful while associating with them that we don't let them draw us out of the light.

    The Truth of Pornography

My life was at the brink of being damaged because of pornography. It comes with the spirit of addiction like hard drugs and alcohol or whatever harmful substance could be addicted to. I was introduced to it during my secondary school days, you guys probably know it to be high school. At that period of my life was I introduced to it. And since then, I couldn't just kill the urge. But thank God for a firm determination and God in my life that rescued me from this destruction because, I was almost becoming something really unpleasant as I was always looking lustfully at every female, Imagining how they'll look like if undressed. It was that serious. Thank God I am free today. Sometimes the thought do come but I have learned not to entertain it because, Phillipians 4:8 has taught me to put my mind on something more edifying. Pornography is a danger to our homes and society. I pray that those that are caught in the web will be free someday.

There are some happenings in our lives that we don't have control over and because of how much hurt we feel we find it a bit hard to hand it over to God's care. It is normal to feel that way but I'll like to say though, we can't control how people treat us but we have power over how we react to every negative actions received. i am not saying this is in anyway easy but I have come to realize that in every circumstances of life we always have choices to allow circumstance dictate our actions or let our predetermined positive, optimistic attitude instill that inner peace we'll be yearning for in times of trouble within and without. Have you ever wondered why the bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength? Because opposition to our joy and happiness are inevitable. It could come from family members, friends, colleagues and bosses at work, our neighbours and some other related factor. Personally, I have made up my mind to be joyful in all situation though, it is not that easy but necessary for my heart to be at peace. I won't be able to move on if I am holding unto past hurt. On a final note, forgiveness is not for those who hurt us but it is actually for us so that we might heal of every resentment inside and move on. I am sorry for what you are going through, Lila. But be rest assured that God, Almighty is in charge. And He will make all things beautiful in time. Be encouraged! Please, let the bible verses speak to you. It is well with you, dear! God bless you!! 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Mark 11:25 "Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Matthew 5:23-24 "Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering. Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing " And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. Hebrews 8:12 "FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE." Isaiah 43:25 "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins. Matthew 6:14-15 "For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. "But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

    Does prison solve anything?

The prison ought to be a correctional facility. A place where people are sent in order to have their behaviour normalized so as to have the right attitude that will fit into any normal society. It is quite unfortunate that inmates when returning from prison become worsen than the time they left. This shouldn't be. It simply means the purpose of sending people to prison has been defeated. May God help our society.

Best verses for dealing with loss?

" For I know the thought that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expectation" Jeremiah 29:11 KJV. There so many scripture to comfort a grieving soul but all in all our presence during their difficult times should express God's intent towards them that he will never leave nor forsake them at anytime. That way a sorrowful heart can find comfort or solace in our care and see God's love through us.

ISIS is spreading around the world

What profit a man to gain this world and loses his soul? What shall he use in exchange of it. I careless if they take half of the world I only pray for their conversion before it is too late for the Lord do not delight in their destruction but that they should come to repentance. It is well with every believer in the world. We are not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God unto salvation to all that believe.
  9. A woman that was propagating the gospel was recently murdered in the north center part of Nigeria which is the capital city. The person that gave the information said it was an act by those of the opposite religion, the muslims. But whoever they are my only prayer is that they come to the realization of their need for a saviour as a result of their act. That they meet with God as Saul of Tarsus in the scripture. And be used mightily for the advancement of the kingdom here on earth. I am not sadden by the woman's death because I know she is with our saviour with her crown of life. And also that this news will further fall to the furtherance of the God. Blessed are those that are persecuted for the sake of righteousness.

    White Jesus

There somethings we should pay less attention to and this is one of those things. If you have a personal walk with Christ you'll get to know Him. I careless of how he look like I have His testimony for my salvation and that is just enough for enough. If they want to go make a research of how Jesus Christ look like then leave them to their folly. Men has fallen into error ever since they resulted to find the source of God riches by their own understanding. The mystery is not theirs to uncover but ours to discover.

    A prayer for our home.

Sometimes last year I felt this burden to intercede for God's family. It is quite obvious that the devil is gradually luring our children from our hands with the tools of deception he had launched into the society. And our growing sons and daughters in their teen always fall prey of this mischief. I'll encourage us to pray for our home especially our children. They are the ones that will take after us when we've gone to be with the Lord, and if we don't stand in prayer for their future the devil will take advantage.

Let's pray for people suffering from addictions

Addiction is not something that is really rampant from where I came from but I believe as we lift up holy hands and pray everywhere as children of God whose Father always hear their call, There will be a revival and we will not lose our loved ones to addictions again in Jesus name.
