    What's up Y'all

    Thanks for the warm welcome!
  3. Briefly introduce yourself. Hey, I'm Brady. 40 year old guy living in Oregon. I'm a mental health therapy technician, and a nursing student. How and how long ago did you become a Christian? Tell us about your conversion experience (if you have one). I never really had an opportunity to not be a Christian. I was one of those born and raised in the church kids. I was first saved as a child, then a teen, and again as an adult. What experiences have shaped you spiritually? The death of my father, surviving abuse, a church embezzlement/sexual harassment scandal that destroyed my church, my school, and my church family. What evidences do you have that you have been given life by God? The fact that I'm even here is a miracle, lol. What does it mean for a person to love God? In what ways do you see true biblical love toward God demonstrated in your life? I feel like this is a pretty personal thing, Very much based on the individual. For me? Making time for God, reading my Bible, being thankful and offering praise. What activities characterize your evangelistic interest I'm not much of an evangelist. I enjoy religious discussion, freely talk to family and friends, and discuss religion with my patients and coworkers when it's appropriate. What are your specific and regular practices regarding the spiritual disciplines (e.g., personal prayer, Bible study, meditation, stewardship, learning, etc.)? Learning, learning daily. One book spawned tens of thousands of denominations. Needless to say, there will be differences of opinion. Prayer, Bible reading. Who are your favorite Christian writers, commentators, theologians, etc.? Why? What books have you read in the past year? Outside of the Bible, I can't say I go out of my way to read Christian authors. I just kinda read whatever. Though I do love me some C.S. Lewis. When you're met with opposition, has it been mostly related to your personality, your beliefs, or something else? My beliefs for sure. And my blessing/curse of saying what I think. Any advice for new or other members on Christforums? Nope
  4. So I have an ESV Study Bible that I've had for years, and I love it. For my own knowledge, I've decided to tackle reading the Apocrypha, because I never have. I'm referring directly to these books: 1 Esdras (Vulgate 3 Esdras) 2 Esdras (Vulgate 4 Esdras) Tobit Judith ("Judeth" in Geneva) Rest of Esther (Vulgate Esther 10:4 – 16:24) Wisdom Ecclesiasticus (also known as Sirach) Baruch and the Epistle of Jeremy ("Jeremiah" in Geneva) (all part of Vulgate Baruch) Song of the Three Children (Vulgate Daniel 3:24–90) Story of Susanna (Vulgate Daniel 13) The Idol Bel and the Dragon (Vulgate Daniel 14) Prayer of Manasses (Daniel) 1 Maccabees 2 Maccabees Anyone have recommendations? Ideally, I'd like these in a nice, 14 book, leather bound edition. I'd take any recommendations though. I just don't really need another Bible, and Apocrypha's with a Bible as well is all I can find. Thanks!
  5. Last night I was reading the book of numbers, then I realized, I don't have yours.
