John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Prayer for new job, wife very ill with cancer

I'm 60% disabled Air Force Veteran...I did Munitions aka bombs during Operation Iraqi Freedom, my Master's is in Strategic Communications. Thank you.
  2. Please pray that I find employment soon. My wife was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in April and is undergoing chemo. I was her full time caretaker and now I must go back to work as financially we cannot afford me not to work, and we are barely making our mortgage. Cancer has devastated my family, my marriage and our finances. I'm a disabled Veteran with a Master's degree and I feel a great deal alone during this season...any prayer or help would be greatly appreciated. God Bless.
