John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

    Israel and Dispensationalism

If the church is the new Israel, why does the Bible treat it seperate? Why the return in 1948? Why have they won three wars they should have been slaughtered in? When did Ezekiel's war occur? If the tribulation already occurred, why isn't the mount of olive split? And the return, where every eye will see him? Why does God call it Jerusalem as a trembling cup in the hand of all nations? When did the judgement of those dividing his land happen? I think we can pick an incident that that fulfills prophecy, but doesn't the final, or end times require these prophecies all come together and to occur in order and within a seven year period? Isn't there suppose to be a peace treaty that is broken in 3 1/2 years? Do we read into the scripture, or read and take out from what it says? I don't think we can piece out single events, or scripture. Confused here. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  2. I might add, although I thought the movie "God is not dead" was a great movie, the apologetics used was very basic and would be destroyed by most professors. But, they when making a movie, you do have time constraints and can really just touch the surface. Lots of dvd on apologetics out there. And anyone interested in the subject a good free start is Dr. Frank Turek. He runs cross examined. Has a free app for your iphone or Android. It's crossexamined one word. 3. We're going to have to raise our children different than our parents and grandparents did. Just telling the story of Jesus and accepting it, and your children following suit is no longer a way to teach it. It's great for the young, 5 year old etc, but teens need to be equipped to defend. For along time in the United States you did not have to defend or give a reason for your beliefs. Now you do. Apologetics needs to taught and understood. I ask my Christians friends to give me reason for their beliefs. The most common answer is, I have Jesus in my heart. Although I agree with that, and their faith, we aren't always sitting with fellow Christians. So I asked, is the Bible true? They say yes. Why is it true? It wasn't written until 400 ad. It has to contain lots of errors. I have faith in it, that's why it's true. Oh, is the Koran true? They reply, no. Why not, the Muslims have faith in it, and if faith makes something true, then it also is true. Now they are totally confused. They can't defend their Bible or faith. That's when I explain, I believe the Bible to be true, and there is plenty of evidence our Bible was written in the first century AD. There is also a lot of evidence for Jesus both existing, and being the Christ. I build them back up quickly, but explain, what if an athiest was saying these things to your children? What if they had to sit there quiet and had no answer for their beliefs other than I have Jesus in my heart. It would not be difficult to shake the foundation of their beliefs. This is why, 80% of Christian children that attend public college leave the faith. The professors are atheist and rip Christianity and our youth cannot defend it. Hershey and Child Slavery

I don't like the fact that Hershey is using child slavery in their products. I'm against it period. As Christians we can see the immorality of it. Volunteer child labor for a poor family, in a poor country, is ok as long as the hours are not long and the work not difficult. Also the child must be free to leave at will. Now the point, I think William trying to Make it, can liberals argue against it? They can say they don't like it, or agree with it, but from there they have no recourse. Our moral standard as Christians, is child abuse is wrong. But we stand on God's moral standard. Liberals atheist, have no moral standard that is greater than themselves. They believe moral standards are personal choice. They also believe, you set standards based on the decisions of the society. So if the society in the African country believe child slavery is moral by their standard, who is the liberal in the United States to change it? Did the liberals become God? I believe they think so. They don't want Christians telling them how to live their lives. We think bla bla bla is ok, and we don't care what your non existent God says! Ok, in some areas of the world they think forced child labor and slavery is ok. So don't steal our Christian morality and impose it on them Mr Atheist. If your morals are strictly society based, then you have to honor the moral codes of other societies. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

    Israel and Dispensationalism

Let me get this right. You believe that Israel has become a spiritual Israel. That the church is the new Israel? Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

    Israel and Dispensationalism

Hmmm.. You guys have me totally confused now. I will have to study these issues. I've taken the pretrib stance, but have to go back to my notes. But I think all will say pretrib, midtrib, postrib, is a secondary issue. Anyway, I believe the land of Israel to be God's land he carved it for himself. The nation's will be judged for Dividing his people and land. Joel 3-1,2. I do believe the Jews must be reborn of the spirit for salvation just as the gentiles are, and we are all the church. I just have a problem with the church becoming the new Israel. But like I said, confused, but see this as a secondary issue. The primary issue, is all that truly counts, he that believes and shall have everlasting life. Whether Jew or Gentile. Whenever the rapture comes, before, during or after the tribulation, there will be a rapture. Jesus will reign on earth, and All people's who's name is written in the book of life will be saved. I will probably be very suprised, maybe, wow the church was Israel, they were right. But for now, I'm a sinner who became a believer, thus salvation, and in thanks of the grace given to me. Also in this day of venom filled debate, really to great to see people discuss an issue without the venom. I enjoyed this, and will have to study it further. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

How do you study the Bible?

When studying the Bible, it's important to remember, who is talking to who. Was it a Jew talking to a Jew? If so Jewish midrash plays an important part (the old testament). When you read the story of David and Goliath, many, many important things happening. Goliath is a lot like false religions. They look protected, they appear strong, but they always have a spot that's vulnerable. For Goliath it was his forehead. Same with religions that lead you astray. They are like a glass of water. The glass can be full of pure water, or it can contain 3% cyanide. It's not the 97% that kills you, it's the 3% that does. You cannot justify the 3%. It's the off biblical beliefs that kill you. The good news, they always expose the spots where they are vulnerable. The JW. They can't reconcile, Charles Russell's false prophecies. Their foundation was built by a false prophet. The 144,000 are jews not JW's. 12,000 male virgins from each of the twelve tribes. Islam, hindu, Buddhist and others believe in Jesus, but don't believe he is the Christ. So that makes them anti Christ. Not "the" anti Christ, but an anti Christ religion. They all have a spot that exposes the lie. When I talk to JW, I expose the spot and Make them reconcile it. I won't let them change the subject, that's their defense. Goliath was killed by his own sword (words). He was also killed by a stone. David chose 5 stones. The jews Hebrew Bible is broken down into sections. One section is 5 books and they cover the law. The law was written in stone, thus Goliath was killed by the law. David was symbolic of Jesus, Goliath the anti Christ. Goliath had a shield bearer that walked before him. The anti Christ will have a false prophet. David was a Shepard, born in Bethlehem. He refused Saul's armor. I can go on for hours, never accept a glass of 97%water, it's not the truth that kills, its the lies. I see a lot of back and forth here about the RCC. I love my catholic friends, but me personally see lots of the vulnerabilities in RCC practice and doctrine. There is a lot of truth, but I could never get anyone to reconcile what I personally see as vulnerabilities. I think if argued politely it would be a good discussion on its own. 9. I think Ray Comfort does a great job. He interacts a lot with people. I think, the right personality and a good location is essential. And a good topic that would get people engaged. Then discussed the issue with a biblical view. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  10. Even in the United States it can be illegal street preaching is legal, because people have a choice whether or not to listen. But, having a captured audience is illegal. Personally, I agree with the law. We not long ago had a preacher arrested for preaching the gospel outside a DMV to people in line. A lot of my Christian friends were upset, and I asked why? What if you were stuck in line and had to listen to an imam for 45 minutes? Or the communist manifesto? How about a Buddhist sitting and chanting? Freedom of speech doesn't cover captured audiences. On a street corner they can listen, or keep walking. The preacher had multiple warnings and asked to leave by the police, but refused. Jesus said, if they don't want to listen, leave. 12. Read the good into it. It's a good lesson for children to see all this controversy. From the mideast, Europe, United States, on and on, Jesus has become the center of controversy. You can peak people's curiosity with any religious discussion. Yoga, hindu, Buddhist, Islam, but mention Christ, and people react. They either are a fellow Christian that will engage you, or you bring out a venom, silence, or stop I don't want to hear it most of the time. The world wants to destroy Christianity like no other belief. To me proof, my God is true and alive. He is not a statue that's charming to desires. He is not a myth. I don't hate our react to Santa clause, Easter bunny, or the great pumpkin. People react to what really exist. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  13. I think Mary was special. Blessed among women. But, she did not die a virgin, and she needed the salvation of Christ. She new that the moment she was informed of the child inside her. Luke 1:46-48 NIV And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord [47] and my spirit rejoices in GOD "MY SAVIOR" , [48] for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, MY SAVIOR, not the world savior, although he was that also. Mary knew she needed a savior. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

I believe you should get baptized. Just because it's the right thing to do. The disciples baptized. Do you have salvation without it? The theif on the cross did, and he was not baptized. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  15. No, it's a Convergence of events. This same super blue moon, and lunar eclipse occurred in 1866. Want a sign then and not a sign now. But there are events taking place that tell me, the birth pangs are getting stronger and more frequent. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
