John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Peter Popoff was big in So. Cal in the 70's-80's until he was exposed on the Johnny Carson show by James Randi.

Pop off would use an ear piece, as his wife would screen the audience for illness, and home addresses.

He was busted when they ran a frequency scan, as his wife was telling him the next victim's illness, and address, as he would use this to pretend he was God's man.

He went bankrupt and out of business for 10 years, word is he is back, and is grossing $60 million a year.

Wikipedia: Peter Popoff (born July 2, 1946) is a German-born televangelist. He was exposed in 1986 for using an earpiece to receive radio messages in which his wife gave him the home addresses and ailments of audience members which he claimed had come from God as part of faith healing.
