Community Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Christian Student Group Refuses University’s LGBT Demands

From reading the story I got the impression that the student was rejected because he refused to sign the organizations statement of faith, not because he was gay.

Good for that group not being bullied by the University.  They are applying the requirements they laid out for their group.  The gay student should have known this going in.  And if they did, and still sought a leadership position within the group knowing full well the rules did not support his lifestyle choice, as is the case with any true Christian organization, then he just comes off as an opportunist trying to take down this group because of their beliefs.

I don't see this going away any time soon, but then the group doesn't, necessarily, have to meet on campus grounds, much less need to be officially endorsed by the University.
