John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Maxine Waters’ Sacrilegious Claim: She’s Been Sent by God To Stop Trump

If Maxine Waters is the new face of the left, they may be in serious trouble. The outspoken liberal congresswoman from California has been on a roll lately, but that’s not a good thing.

Earlier this month, she told anti-Trump protesters to literally harass conservatives wherever they are, even going so far as to encourage radical leftists to get in people’s faces at gas stations and department stores.

Now, she’s taken the vitriol to a whole new level. During a rambling anti-Trump speech at First AME Church in Los Angeles, an unhinged Waters declared that she had been personally sent by God Almighty to stop the president.

Yes, really.

“You’ve gotta know that I’m here to do the work that I was sent (by God) to do,” she said from the pulpit of the church.

“(A)nd as pastor said to me when I came in this morning, when God sends you to do something, you just do it!” she continued, making it clear that she saw her “anti-Trump mission” as coming from above.

“So I have a message I’m going back to Washington tomorrow morning, I’m going to tell them pastor told me to come here and just do it!” she concluded.

It was unclear if she also believed that God had instructed her to support abortion, which kills over half a million unborn children every year in the United States, or to allow countless unvetted murderers and rapists across the southern border with no enforcement.

That is the problem with her latest claim: It’s a perfect example of the sacrilegious “pick and choose” beliefs of the left. It seems that God and Christianity are to be ignored when it’s convenient, but suddenly invoked when it helps bolster a radical desire to undermine the U.S. president.

Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that liberals were openly mocking conservatives like George W. Bush and Mitt Romney for being men of faith.

“The president of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God,” atheist writer Sam Harris wrote during the Bush presidency.

“If he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ridiculous or offensive,” the liberal continued, echoing the smug and dismissive tone frequently used by the media when the topic of God comes up.

Barack Obama’s infamous scorn against Americans who “cling to their religion” is a perfect example of this disdain for faith.

It hasn’t stopped. Christians like Mike Pence and Marco Rubio continue to be lambasted and ridiculed for believing in God, despite the fact that the vast majority of Americans hold similar beliefs.

Even Democrats who claim to be Catholic, including John Kerry and Dick Durbin, seem to conveniently put their religion in the closet when it gets in the way. Both have been banned by the church from taking communion due to their support for late-term abortion, but seemed unbothered by this.

It’s the hypocrisy that is the problem. Liberals can’t seem to decide if they loath believers or think that God sent them on a mission to attack the president; it apparently depends on the whims of the day.

One side is appalled by abortion; the other side celebrates it. One side stands up for religious liberty; the other side sees Christians and Jews as the enemy. One side wants an all-powerful government that meddles in every aspect of life; the other side believes in God-given rights and human liberty.

If Democrats like Waters truly think that God plays petty politics, they might want to take a look in the mirror … there just might be a plank in their eye.

This is an asinine and ridiculous statement, even for Waters.

This is serious. This woman is undoubtedly unhinged and mentally sick !. I watched AHC last night that had a rerun of the Jim Jones Tragedy  he brought on so many people by his tactful use of persuasion and the ability to captivate his congregation into doing his will,,,,Any and all of it no matter how obnoxious it was ! In spite of  repeated  warnings of his willingness to take the lives of anyone he felt threatened by, he still managed to persuade nine hundred and twenty nine of his parishioners to parish by making them believe that death was the ultimate goal . I bring up this sad time in our history because it's people like Maxine Waters that are obviously mentally challenged but manage to gather a large group of constituents that are willing to believe anything she says no matter how repulsive it is. Usually relating to them her hatred for conservatism and a government built upon capitalism.  Waters is going to elevate the devout socialist career of Ocasio Cortez . [d] NewYork , by exploiting  the thousands of anti-American students and liberals to build a new democrat party based entirely on socialism. And that's scary ! REAL SCARY !! Here's the problem. What will conservative Americans do when we awake one day and find out that the government owns everything we used to , including our very lives ?

What "god" sent her?

Well,,,the god of this world ,of course. And we all know who that is ,don't we . When it all plays out and the Judgment Seat of Christ opens we should not be surprised to see  people like Maxine Waters , Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright and a host of others that have done their best to destroy our religious freedoms there   . In the meantime they are all held in a bondage of stupor whereby God has withheld any chances of reconciliation to Him to be impossible. In other words they all have been remanded to Eternal Hell and damnation . And no ,,,there is no escaping Hell ! So let these reprobates spew out their vehement hatred for freedom and democracy because the joke is on them though they have no idea of the terrible torments that await them .    M

Amazing. Her supporters shouted and cheered her on when during one of her meetings with her deceived followers she gave a big hug to Louis Farrakhan . The same ones that go to churches that have preachers that tell them anything that they are willing to believe. Obama wasn't immune from the clutches of Farrakhan .He too received a gracious welcome from the Muslim , Jew hating ,Jesus mocker in person. Think of it. Is there anything so obnoxious as to vote these people into high offices of government ? And think of nothing relative to entertaining a controversial person like Farrakhan .If we are so ignorant to continue to allow these people to tear down this nation then perhaps we well deserve to suffer the consequences .   Disgusting !   M
