John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Exercising during the hot and cold seasons

Recommended Posts

Do you do the same types of exercising year round or does it change some based on the weather/season?

I like running sometimes in the very cold but dread the heat and humidity. It's more difficult for me during the summer, but my swimming at that time improves.

Okay Becky, stop making excuses and hit the gym!

I told my wife that I am going on a "see (sea) food diet"....whatever food I "see" I eat!

This was seven years ago but it was great running when it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit in Andong, South Korea.

One South Dakota high school student is making the case against his school’s dress code policies for student athletes, arguing that he and his fellow students should not be forced to wear shirts...

I wonder if the school has a swim team and how this policy could be implemented.

I do at least ten laps from my living room to the fridge every day, all year round. Lol.

I've never put much thought into exercise. After working outside all day it doesn't feel like I really need to. But I do like walking and hiking, especially in the cooler seasons.
