John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Jesus: The Son of God means God the Son

The Son of God

Since the Lord Jesus is the unique Son of God this means He is God the Son for the Son of God is worshiped (Matthew 14:33; John 20:28 cf. v. 31; Acts 9:20 cf. v. 21; Romans 1:3-4 cf. v. 1; 1 John 5:13 cf. vv. 14-16; "Son of the Father" in 2 John 1:3) and is omniscient (John 1:47-49; Revelation 2:18 cf. v. 23). This proves the Son of God is God (John 20:31 cf. v. 28; 1 John 5:20).

The Son of Man

The Son of Man is worshiped (Daniel 7:13-14 cf. Matthew 25:31; 26:64; Mark 14:62; John 9:35 cf. v. 38; Acts 7:56 cf. v. 59-60) and is omniscient (Matthew 16:27). This proves the Son of Man is God (Revelation 1:13 cf. vv. 17-18).

The Son of David

The Son of David is worshiped (Matthew 22:42-44 cf. Psalm 110:1; Daniel 7:14). This proves the Son of David is God.

The Son
As the "Son," the Lord Jesus is worshiped (Matthew 28:19; John 5:23; 14:13-14; Hebrews 1:5 cf. v. 6) and is omniscient (Matthew 11:27; Luke 10:22). This proves the Lord Jesus, as the "Son," is God (Hebrews 1:5 cf. v. 8, 10).

Well Jesus is not the Son of David He is the Son of God.

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42“What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”

“The son of David,” they replied.

43He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? For he says,

44“ ‘The Lord said to my Lord:

“Sit at my right hand

until I put your enemies

under your feet.” ’e

45If then David calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” 46No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.

The Son of God means the Son of God

What about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?

In regard to the Son He is ALL that the Father is

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, "Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God."

He is both the Son of God (Matthew 14:33; John 20:31) and the Son of David (Matthew 1:1; Luke 18:38-39).

Jesus himself should know . You know He's not Josephs Son. So He must have been appointed to the line of David by the Father.

Okay, but wait a minute. You affirmed that He is not the Son of David, but the passages I cited above teach that He is the Son of David.

Did you not read the words of the head of the body of Christ?

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42“What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”

“The son of David,” they replied.

43He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? For he says,

You misunderstand what this means. The Lord Jesus is not denying He is the Son of David (Matthew 1:1; Luke 18:38-39) but sought to emphasize His Deity (which they rejected).

John Gill: Had they understood and owned the proper divinity of the Messiah, they might have answered, that as he was God, he was David's Lord, his maker, and his king; and, as man, was David's son, and so both his root and offspring; and this our Lord meant to bring them to a confession of, or put them to confusion and silence, which was the consequence.

Jesus asked the question, "Whose Son is the Christ?". He as God Christ was pointing out He was Gods Son. That is the Christ is Gods Son.

Son in this manner as many are called Sons=>the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world

I am not sure what you mean in the first sentence above. I think if you used commas (,) and apostrophes (') it would help me in trying to figure out what you mean.

Many are called sons but the Son of God, Christ Jesus is worthy of worship. No other "son" is.
