John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Obviously Comey thinks it's a waste of time. He has other things to do.

Burr wants this wrapped up by August.

False indictment by DOJ or Special Counsel is a high crime, and Comey certainly knows it, and that is why he is not going to attend this Senate hearing under oath due to “previously scheduled events”.

Is that true? :classic_huh:

Meuller brought charges against 13 Russian entities not expecting any of them to respond. That appears to have been a PR stunt and if Mueller cannot produce the proper evidence then would that be "false indictment?

Sufficiency of Indictment—Generally

Generally, Rule 7(c)(1) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure requires an indictment to provide "a plain, concise and definite written statement of the essential facts constituting the offense charged." United States v. Yefsky, 994 F.2d 885, 893 (1st Cir. 1993) ("The Supreme Court has instructed that an indictment is sufficient if it contains the elements of the offense charged, fairly informs the defendant of the charges against which he must defend, and enables him to enter a plea without fear of double jeopardy.") (citing Hamling v. United States, 418 U.S. 87, 117 (1974)); see also Collins v. Markley, 346 F.2d 230, 232 (7th Cir.) (en banc) ("The sufficiency of an indictment is to be measured by certain guide lines. First, the indictment standing alone must contain the elements of the offense intended to be charged, and it must be sufficient to apprise the accused of the nature of the offense. Second, after conviction, the record of the case must be sufficient so that the accused can plead the judgment in bar of any subsequent prosecution for the same offense."), cert. denied, 382 U.S. 946 (1965).

Was the Steele dossier sufficient when the FBI did not substantiate the claims made by the document? Comey knew who paid for it and choose not to inform Trump.

In the above foxnews article:

Last week, Trump tweeted, “The 13 Angry Democrats in charge of the Russian Witch Hunt are starting to find out that there is a Court System in place that actually protects people from injustice…and just wait ‘till the Courts get to see your unrevealed Conflicts of Interest!”

Senate panel backs intel report on Russian meddling, after interviewing Obama officials

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/05/16/senate-panel-backs-intel-report-on-russian-meddling-after-interviewing-obama-officials.html

“Committee staff have spent 14 months reviewing the sources, tradecraft, and analytic work, and we see no reason to dispute the conclusions,” Burr said in a statement. “There is no doubt that Russia undertook an unprecedented effort to interfere with our 2016 elections.  I look forward to completing the Committee’s inquiry and issuing our findings and recommendations to the American people.”

————————

Left wing media is reporting this in such a manner to leave the readers come to the conclusion that Trump has colluded with Russia. They aren't saying that in so many words but  from the comments I’ve read that is how the message is coming across.

All this does is show that Russia attempted to upset the workings of US elections. Russia attempts to throw a monkey wrench into anything concerning the US. Nothing new. We do the same.

Again what is missing is proof of how and what was influenced. We know bots were used to influence voters but then democrats did the same thing. Did the right do the same? I would think so.

This does not prove collusion nor does it prove the Russians were successful. Did they make the attempt? Of course.

Shock! Surprise! After meeting with Obama loyalists....

Yes, all the evidence that proved Trump had nothing to do with colluding with Russia was wrong!
While all the evidence of Obama's protege colluding with Russia and now it is found out Hillary Clinton diverted 150 thousand dollars of left over campaign monies to her personal account after she lost the election, which is illegal, will be ignored too. Because getting Trump is priority. Even when he's done nothing wrong so as to get got, getting him is all that matters. Truth doesn't matter! Lying to get Trump is what matters.

Ah, the corrupt Left. One day they'll surprise us and actually grow a conscience, a moral center, and, know how to tell the truth. Kidding!

And just to say, I think the real reason James Comey isn't going to attend this upcoming hearing is because he's afraid he'll be arrested as soon as he enters the chamber.

American's don't cast their votes on computers. And anyone can imply Russia colluded, but it never means that Donald Trump had a thing to do with it.

Whereas the Left's known Muslim traitor darling can't say the same thing. And his collusion was while he was in office.

McCarthy: 'Probably No Doubt' FBI Had At Least One Confidential Informant in Trump Campaign

Did the FBI have a spy in the Trump campaign?

A new New York Times report stated that the investigation into the Trump campaign's ties to Russia began in the summer of 2016 and was code-named Crossfire Hurricane.

Brian Kilmeade noted that the report "buried the lead," stating that "at least one government informant met several times" with Carter Page and George Papadopoulos.

Kilmeade discussed the explosive report with former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy, who wrote in the National Review about Aug. 2017 testimony to the Senate by Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, which became public in Jan. 2018.

Federal judge who ripped Mueller team obtains 'scope memo' detailing Russia probe

The federal judge who recently ripped into Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team has obtained a copy of the so-called “scope memo” that lays out the parameters of the Russia probe.

A court document filed Thursday in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia shows that prosecutors have turned over the memo, under seal, to U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III.

During a court hearing earlier this month, Ellis demanded to see an unredacted copy of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s Aug. 2, 2017  “scope memo” to Mueller outlining the scope of the special counsel’s Russia probe that congressional Republicans also have sought.

“The scope letter is what Rosenstein said is the actual area that Mr. Mueller can investigate,” Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said Thursday on Fox News. “He hasn't given it to Congress. I think we're co-equal branches of government. We'd like to see it without redactions.”
