John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Invisible primary has already begun for Dems

BY AMIE PARNES - 05/09/18

The invisible primary has begun for Democrats plotting a presidential path in 2020.

Would-be candidates are hitting the trail, sharpening their positions, seeking the right political “lane” and holding private conversations with donors about their prospects.

Invisible primaries typically start after the midterm elections, but Democrats thinking about the 2020 race appear to be getting a head start.

The battle to become the Democratic nominee is shaping up for an early start, and political observers say it’s anyone’s to win.

“We live in a world where presidential campaigns are four-year cycles, and many potential candidates don’t have the luxury to delay conversations with potentials donors, validators, [Democratic National Committee] members and operatives until after the midterms,” said Adam Parkhomenko, a Democratic strategist who co-founded Ready for Hillary, the super PAC that helped push Hillary Clinton into the 2016 race.

[Continues @ The Hill]

Let's hope Joe Biden doesn't go for it. Scary stuff.

I have no clue who their frontrunner really could be. Party building hasn’t been much of a focus during the Obama administration and those you hear a lot about like Hillary, Pelosi and Shummer aren’t going to run.

Biden? I don’t think he’s any match for Trump. Crazy Bernie? I don’t think so. Michelle isn’t isn’t going to run for it either and Oprah is out.

No idea.

Nor do I. I've heard it said Joe B. would make a run for it. That is probably as likely as Ms.O.

I did look for something that gave a ranking of possibilities. Though I wonder if this is Satire? Being their top 3, at the bottom of the ranking since the count starts from 15th, are: 1. Bernie Sanders 2. Elizabeth Warren 3. Joe Biden (with "crazy uncle Joe" as some call him, there's a video concerning the history of sexual misconduct reports concerning JB. I didn't know it was that bad. I knew of one or two allegations but come on! )

i doubt they will find anyone new - and they don't have anyone old - it will be very interesting to see who they come up with -

they are having trouble pleasing the extreme left and the middle left

and they really have no platform to speak of - so there is a lot to pull together to attract a new face

the people are tired of celebrities and politicians and now they have a taste of what a successful businessman can do they might try that corner

praying for God to strengthen the right and remove all the nonsense on the right long before 2020 so that america will be doubly pro-right and doubly lose interest in the left

Well, it is a good old dog network there after all.

I know that John McCain was granted a reward for supporting everything GWBjr. wanted during his 8 years and therein was awarded candidate for President in 2008 elections. He was made to take on Sarah Palin as VP because the party wanted to see if there would be a feminist and female cross over vote among those opposed to Hillary who was also running on the Democrat side of it.

Bernie Sanders prior affirmation during the last campaign , when he said he'd vie for the Presidential nomination all the way to the DNC convention if necessary, and then after a meeting with Barack and Hillary dropped out.  Due to his concession in that way, I would think he may be a viable candidate merely for that same reward system that allowed John to finally achieve candidacy. Bernie dropped out after such a huge promise about his tenacity to seek the candidacy for a reason.

Maybe that's why there's a push for the Socialist model among the democratic party and left wing partisan media.

And if that were to be the case, I don't doubt he'd be made to have a woman as his VP for the same reasons as happened with McCain. In which case I'd think that could be Warren.

What a team. Sanders-Warren 2020. :classic_wacko:

Or, likely a woman candidate. We've already watched history being made with Barack. Now it is a woman's turn if they follow the American last century liberation model. First blacks were freed from slavery, then black men gained the right to vote before women. First black President, Barack, now to follow and make history overshadowing the 20th centuries liberation movement of blacks and women, a woman has to be elected rather soon after the turn into the new century.

OK, here's a ticket to make you go  giphy.gif

Maxine Waters (P) with Elizabeth Warren (VP)

I don't think the democratic presidential nominee will be a white male.
Would the party choose such while there's been so much talk of misogyny and the publicity of the #MeToo movement?
A run by Biden wouldn't add up. Elizebeth Warren? Somehow she doesn't resonate. Michelle Obama? She's stated she won't run. But then, she could change her mind to avenge her husband's lost legacy. There's still time.

Hillary Clinton: Large Portion of U.S. ‘Uneasy,’ ‘Angry’ About Women Seeking Power

Clinton said, “There is still a very large proportion of the population that is uneasy with women in positions of leadership, and so the easiest way to kind of avoid having to look at someone on her merits is to dismiss her on her looks.”

Hillary Clinton: Misogyny is 'endemic'

"I think sexism and misogyny are endemic in our society," she said.

Michelle Obama slams women who voted for Trump

“It doesn’t say much about Hillary, and everybody’s trying to worry about what it means for Hillary and no, no, no what does this mean for us as women?” she asked, as reported by the Washington Times. “That we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, ‘He’s better for me. His voice is more true to me.’ To me that just says, you don’t like your voice. You just like the thing you’re told to like.”

Oprah keeps it unpresidential in address to California grads

“The misogyny needs to stop!” she shouted at one similar moment during Friday’s commencement address to graduates of USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Looking at that list they should run someone younger (and not so screechingly far left) like Harris or Bullock, but they'll probably not do that and we'll end up with someone like Biden, Sanders or Cuomo...

When McCain finally achieved the Republican candidacy in 2008, and after 8 years of supporting GWB Jr. , even as McCain was clearly not as fit for the office as his opponents, it demonstrated the buddy buddy network was not only open but,  didn't care that it was making Quid Pro Quo ever the more obvious to the American voters.  And after all, does it look like the power brokers in D.C respect us?

bush-mccain-hug-72-thumb.jpg

That's why when Bernie Sanders made his vow that he'd fight to get on the Democrat candidate ticket all the way to the convention when it was just him and the Succubus, Hillary R. Clinton, that was pretty optimistic in itself.

And then, prior to that convention and Bernie being afforded the chance in the eyes of his supporters to do that very thing what happens? Well, it was a step by step bow out. But why? First he met with Barack.(The Atlantic Article)lead_large.jpg?1522793814" The Democratic primary race isn’t officially over, but Clinton has already claimed victory, much to the frustration of Sanders’s devoted followers. On Tuesday, Clinton congratulated the senator on “the extraordinary campaign he has run.” Sanders must now figure out how to continue influencing the direction of the party and the Democratic agenda. "

And then the Democrat Convention arrived.

But what ever happened to the probe? Of alleged illegal activities of Bernie's wife Jane?

Uh Oh: New Report Says FBI Fraud Probe into Bernie's Wife Has Deepened, Cites Grand Jury Action

".... The federal probe into a 2010 land deal orchestrated by former Burlington College president Jane Sanders, wife of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has deepened. VTDigger has confirmed that a grand jury has compelled sworn witness testimony in the case. The Vermont U.S. Attorney’s office has interviewed at least one witness before the grand jury to determine whether indictments should be handed down. Former Burlington College board member Robin Lloyd says she testified for about an hour on Oct. 26 before a grand jury at the federal courthouse in Burlington.

Paul Van de Graaf, chief of the criminal division for the U.S. attorney’s office in Vermont, questioned Lloyd about her role as the development chair of the college’s board of trustees during a period when Sanders was collecting donations and pledges for the purchase of a $10 million city lakefront property. Lloyd, who is publisher of the progressive website Toward Freedom, kept copious board meeting minutes as the development chair for the college. In the interview with Van de Graaf, Lloyd said he “was focused on what I knew about who had been approached for contributions.”...Lloyd’s appearance is the first public confirmation that the federal government has compelled a grand jury. "

I think that come 2020 Bernie is going to get his reward. Especially since the election and all that he's done against Trump. And when during the presidential campaign he vowed to fight against Trump. Now that Trump is President, Bernie is dedicated to fight him still. And no doubt those who reigned in his aspirations to fight for the nomination all the way to the convention are proud of that.

I think come 2020 Bernie is going to get his reward for breaking his vow to fight for the presidential nomination all the way to the Democrat convention. Just like McCain was rewarded having ran before for President and never making it on the ticket, but after strong support of GWBjr. for 8 years,  did achieve the nomination. And after many of his fellow nominee hopefuls dropped out before the first primary! Who does that?

But Bernie isn't going to win. He's just the great nemesis that opposes Trump and is still that open Socialist that the young ignorant voters love to hear speak. Even when Bernie Sanders is clearly unfit for the responsibilities and bearing the stress of highest office.

It's D.C politics. Deals are what makes their world go around.

Bernie I believe will be on the ticket in 2020. But Trump will win.

Trump’s improved standing, energized GOP voters worry Democrats

After months of confidence that public discontent with President Trump would lift Democrats back to power in Congress, some party leaders are fretting that their advantages in this year’s midterms are eroding amid a shifting political landscape.

Driving their concerns are Trump’s approval rating, which has ticked upward in recent weeks, and high Republican turnout in some recent primaries, suggesting the GOP base remains energized. What’s more, Republicans stand to benefit politically from a thriving economy and are choosing formidable candidates to take on vulnerable Democratic senators.

The Daily 202: Trump voters stay loyal because they feel disrespected

THE BIG IDEA: Three new deep dives into Donald Trump’s strength in Midwestern counties that were previously Democratic strongholds — written by conservatives, liberals and a nonpartisan journalist — each highlight a deep craving for respect among supporters of the president and an enduring resentment toward coastal elites that buoys his popularity.

Republicans and Democrats who have traveled to Macomb County in the Detroit suburbs, which Trump won by 12 points after Barack Obama carried it twice, including by 16 points in 2008, came away struck by these dynamics.

Until this ridiculous bit of news on a proposed bill in Kalifornia , we never heard of Democrat  Assemblyman Miguel Santiago of Sacramento, did we?

Think of all the pretend Socialists squealing with joy at the thought of this that will never happen. And the gratitude they'll likely show him at the polls come the next election.

California has the most electoral votes of any state, 55. But seriously, as bad as they're getting in showing through legislative processes there and defending illegal sanctuary cities, violating federal law and the Constitution , they should be kicked out of the union. Give the 55 electoral votes to Delaware, or some other state on the opposite coast.

Pull all federal monies now, and extract every member serving the offices of ICE and the INS, now.
See how happy they are with all the illegals and "refugees" they're thinking the rest of the country should understand being let into the former "Golden State", when the rich that make those nonsense laws don't have federal officers protecting them.

California’s elected Democrats are pushing for a communist holiday, at the expense of a U.S. President’s Day. Remember during the Cold War when “better dead than Red?” was the thinking?

History repeats itself because evil never goes away.

Democrat Assemblyman Miguel Santiago, D-Los Angeles, authored AB-3042 to combine the birthdays of U.S. Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln into one “President’s Day” while designating May 1 for International Workers’ Day, a Communist holiday. The bill has passed two Assembly committees, and actually made it to the Assembly floor for a vote last week, but came up short. However, 22 Democrats voted in favor of the bill’s passage, while 29 Assembly members abstained with “No Vote Recorded,” and did not even have the guts to make a vote.

With the Cold War a distant memory, the left would like Americans to forget that May 1st, “May Day,” is the most important day of the year for communists, socialists, and anarchists. In the Soviet Union and communist bloc countries, May Day is celebrated with huge parades, showcasing missiles, tanks, and military might, brigades of goose-stepping troops, Communist red flags, and banners of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin. Santiago is another career politician supported entirely by big labor unions. His previous job was the District Director for former Assembly Speaker John Perez. Yes, he’s just another Capitol staffer who ascended to elected office, with no real-world experience.

In non-communist countries the communist and socialist parties have always held May Day celebrations, usually under the auspices of the U.S. labor movement deemed “International Workers Solidarity Day.”
