John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

He is in the last stages of the brain tumor's work. I don't know you. I don't speak that nonchalantly of someone in the active phase of meeting death.

I didn't think another run a physical possibility for the Senator.

He was considered to be one for his military service but I would not consider him to be one in the political arena, just the opposite...

A political life almost always results in a person being considered ok by a bunch of people and terrible by another bunch of people.

It's really hard to imagine that a person can be a hero in the military arena and be such a coward in the political one? It's also had to imagine how anybody could support him politically???

We are all meeting death we just don't know when but it is reasonable to assume that an 81 yo is much closer to it than a younger person.  It is not nonchalance it is simple fact.....

Dying is the natural end of life on earth. Dying or being dead does not change the spots of the leopard. Lighting both ends of a candle shows  the lack of character of ANY one .

No it didn't. Probably a very few might say that. Since I have never voted for a democrat I wasn't changing horses.

I imagine they said some people did not vote for Obama for that reason. Which I am sure is true.

The media was building division . Divide and conquer . I personally know no one who voted for racist reason, either side.. My circle of friends is small.

And people (especially whites) that did not vote for him are immediately suspected, and even accused, of being racist.  Of course there were few people who voted for him simply because he WAS black, right?

Absolutely right. I spoke with a few in fact who said that very thing when they cast their vote for his second term.

Funny. I actually don't recall telling anyone how I voted in person. And my integrity among my friends is such they would not suspect racist motivations if I had talked about it.
