Meet Like Minded Believers Can two walk together except they be agreed? - Amos 3:3

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

SGS offers a "fenced" community: both for private single members and also a public Protestant forums open to Bible-believing Christians such as Presbyterians, Lutherans, Reformed, Baptists, Church of Christ members, Pentecostals, Anglicans. [h=1]Meehan resigns with promise to pay back alleged sexual harassment claim[/h]

Rep. Patrick Meehan is resigning from Congress effective immediately, the Pennsylvania Republican announced Friday.

Meehan, who has been battling sexual misconduct allegations, had already announced that he planned to retire from Congress.

He said in a statement that he plans to pay back the $39,000 he used from his office account to settle a claim against him.

Does anyone buy that this guy isn't resigning because he's guilty?

If someone accused me of these things I'd fight to my last breath when I knew I did no such thing. To heck with the "sparing others" pain. This would be my reputation on the line, my name, and my legacy in public service. No one remembers a line like, I resigned to spare others difficulty in dealing with horrible obscene allegations against myself. They instead remember, he resigned in the wake of horrible obscene allegations against himself.

I don't think resignation should vacate the possibility of criminal charges either. Sexual predators should be taught a lesson under the strongest punishment the law allows. No matter who they are.
