John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Yesterday (4/26/2018) I found out I have bone cancer. Prostrate cancer has mover to L-4.

I am reminded of Psalm 139 and I know Yahweh knew all about this and I am in His will from the day I was conceived to the day I go to be with my Father and Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is within my soul.

I have gotten a new Urologist outside of the VA which I no longer trust, they failed me. Had it not been for mt primary care doctor in the VA who is a Christian I might not have gotten the heads up on tthe bone cancer.

I ask your prayers for what and where I can have radiation. I have underwent radiation in 2003 for prostrate cancer, and it was extremely painful. I pray it that is not as bad this time.

Thank you all. I know I have requested prayer so many times in the last 16 months . I appreciate your patients with my many requests.

Praying for you, don't let this stuff get you down, I know that's easier said then done.

What kind of radiation are you getting, I knew a guy who had some kind of radioactive seed implants, it seemed to work well.

Just Mike -- I'm so sorry to hear of your bone cancer. Our bodies are very mortal and remind us of that every so often. Your bio info says you're married -- how is your wife doing with your diagnosis.

Innerfire, I thank you for asking, so very much.

I was not physically able to undergo surgery or radioactive implants, my only option was radiation, it was dreadful to say the least! My prostrate was treated with 39 radiation treatments in 2003. Once radiated, the prostrate can not be radiated again. rt of what has happened now.

The stats, say after 15 years less than 20% of those men are still alive, after being treated with radiation. I am now at the 15 year mark this May. God has blessed me greatly.

At this point and time we are unsure exactly what we are going to do. Today we have elected to go to a Oncologists / Urologists outside of the VA system. My Hematologists has suggested a doctor that specializes some kinds of bone cancer / radiation. Besides this my PC doctor has also given us a referral. We have an appointment on May 2, and may 15 with doctors who may give us more direction / information.

On top of this I have weekly Magnesium infusions, as my kidneys leak it like nobodies business.

If you happen to remember to pray for me once in a while, I sure would be pleased.

God is good, all the time.

We are taking each day one at a time. We pray together, and trust God, from whom our strength comes from. Thank you for asking.

Thank you all my dear friends for your prayer support. MY church at last Wed. night gathered around my wife and me and prayed for us. This was such a loving thing they did. We are so blessed to belong to this body of Christ's followers.

I'm sorry for your diagnoses Just Mike. The Lord never promised us a smooth ride in this life. Like Solomon said time and circumstance happens to us all. Jesus told us we will be tested.

I am not sure what you mean by traveling. My wife and I are going to a cancer specialists on March 15th. I have little idea what he will say or how he can treat my bone cancer in L-4. I surely appreciate your prayers as this is a very serious diagnosis, especially at 73 years of age. Thank you for asking. God bless.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that asking someone how they are traveling may be an Australian way of asking how they are doing. How is that guess, @Matto?
