John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Not really sure.

I remember at 16 asking the Lord Jesus to save me, but I knew almost nothing about doctrine and anything about the Bible. Next few years jumped into sin and reached a point when I just got sick of living in the pig sty (Luke 15:15-17). At 22 I did the same thing that I did when I was 16, but the Lord put people in my life that led me to a good Bible believing church to get grounded in the Bible and following the Lord.

This immediately came to mind--"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matt 7:7) The Lord heard you and will never forsake you, Faber.

Tough to answer like that. I don't think I was ever not a Christian. However growing and committing occurred in various stages. I selected 13-10, because I was 17 when I made a public confession, was baptized and really committed in my heart to walk away from sin and to seek God with all my heart.
