John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

I suppose it’s time to introduce myself.

I was born and raised into a great Christian home, thank God. I am reminded of what a blessing that is when I speak with other Christian friends who didn’t have that advantage. Now it is true, God doesn’t have any grandchildren, but the benefit of parents who instill trust and absolute faith in God into their children cannot be overstated. Of course I had my “prodigal son” era, yet never did I doubt the veracity of my parents teachings. The apostle Paul had some stiff competition on that “Chiefest of sinners” claim. The places the Spirit of God ended up with me, and situations He protected me in must have frustrated Him mightily. Thank you God…. You really are fantastic. My words can’t begin to describe how Wonderful and loving you truly are. You know my heart. You are Life, You are my life, Keep me in your life.

We are given this brief existence as an opportunity to enter into a relationship with our creator. Our short time here has eternal consequences. Sometimes it seems I want it all. And I do. I want discernment, faith unlimited, healing, wisdom, knowledge, love, patience, tolerance, Your Spirit without measure, every gift You will give. (Desire gifts) At any rate, if any who read this have any doubt about putting their faith in the “I Am”, toss it. It is the only thing that makes sense. Scripture states that “There are not many wise among you”, It also says “the fool has said in his heart there is no God”. To know God, to walk with God in the absence of any reward promised in eternity is just a better existence and a more fulfilling life.

So, God knows those that are His, and may He strengthen and increase in righteousness all of you who call upon His name.
