John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Forum gliche?

Fireproof

Hi William, I was speaking to Hidden Manna, he mentioned that he cannot post on the forum all the sudden. He thought maybe it was a gliche since he could post and then all of the sudden for no apparent reason he couldnt post any longer but is locked out for whatever reason. I told him that I would bring this to the boards attention since he cannot do that for himself. Maybe you could help him.

Thanks, God bless

Thanks,

I sent Hidden Manna a private message. If he is reading this and he can't respond he can try using the contact us page: https://www.christforums.org/contact-us

I do not see any reason why he cannot post.

God bless,

William

I've tried to start a PM conversation dealing with the presence of a couple of people who seem to be trolling and yet the topics never came up.

Turns out that Hidden Manna was setting off the site's spam guard. Only a certain amount of links are allowed before the posts goes into a moderator approval bin. When copying a page that contains links, like Greek Lexicons, each link is counted against the poster. The advanced editor allows a person to either paste content in a Text editor or to break the links manually to strip hyperlinks from the content. When a post exceeds the amount of allotted links the post is flagged as spam and requires someone to review the post and then publish it.

@ConfessionalLutheran , the two people you're referring, one hasn't been on the board for months and the other I doubt understands the PM system or they just ignored you. Beware that members must post at least ten times in order to gain access to the PM system. So if you write someone with less than ten posts they may be able to read your message, but they won't be able to respond.

God bless,

William
