John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Doug Jones to Take Oath of Office on Family Bible

Recommended Posts

Many false believers use the Bible to be sworn in to political office.

The Democrats have as one of their primary Planks the right of any woman to an abortion (the murder of children). But Jesus warnes in Matthew 18:6 that the penalty for harming a little one is sever. That it would be better if a millstone were hung around a persons neck and they be drowned in the depth of the sea, that to harm a child. Now I know the verse refers to causing a child to sin, but I believe this could also be for someone who murders a child, yet alone a baby in the womb.

Doug Jones can carry his family Bible everywhere he goes, and sleep with it, but he is a anti-Christ.
