John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

What a sorry lot we are so much of the time (yet He chose to come here and die for us anyway). God chose to love us in spite of ourselves, PTL, because we hardly deserve such love.

At least this veteran's nurses were fired from their jobs as a result.

Health care is garbage. If you're you're old, poor, or homeless they couldn't care less if you drop dead.

My father was homeless and went to the hospital in Miami, Fl with a heart attack. They helped him, but never said a word to him about the aneurisms until he took another heart attack and needed three stints put in at another hospital. They sent him out the door to die, by God's grace he's still with us.
