John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Origin of "the Faith"

Recommended Posts

Faith of Christ is endowed with Power (not ours, Christ’s) so much so that Jesus Christ can’t be deceived by His expectations, or denied the fulfillment of His expectations. Faith is an acknowledgement in power, is it not? Even Jesus Christ acknowledges the Father who is in Heaven that all His works were done by the power of the Father. And He said that no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the “Son of man” which is in heaven, and also states that the Father is in Heaven but yet He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him. Hence there is no blindness to His Faith acknowledging the Power He knows oh so well. Faith isn’t blind, there’s no faith in what is not known, or experienced.

For example: for some faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, hence the Truth of God revealed. But the rest seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand, therefore they can’t acknowledge what they don’t see or hear, hence no faith received or comes to them.

Therefore, one’s own faith has no real power but the Faith that is of Christ the Word of God that comes is endowed with the Power that is God. So, some are bowing to a power that is God’s, and some are bowing to the Power that is God? Note that Jesus said He was to sit at the right hand of “Power”.

All exists because of God, therefore nothing is or has its own power, because all power, and power to do is granted by God. And consider just how much power that is and who or what shall He bestow it to, should He see fit to bestow it at all. So how is it that anything or anyone have the right or be entitled the power to be or do without God’s granting? Therefore, the only thing entitled is the fulfillment of God’s will according to His satisfaction. So expectation of one’s own desires are a hit and miss according to opportunity. But God’s expectation expressed through His Word are to be fulfilled. And that expectation is the true Faith.

so its deceptive and deceiving to think and teach that "the Faith" is anything but of God, for surly, the Father and the Son share in the same Trust.
