John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

I prefer typing than the phone. Question now that I have an off topic thread with you. Have you read the bible from cover to cover fairystar? And if not are you planning to?

Do not be offended by my question, please.

God bless,

William

There is much more to communication than just verbal transaction. Visual is a big one but even greater is the spiritual realm. We are spiritual beings and whether we realize it or not when we meet someone our spirits harmonize or are in discord. It may be that you are so strong in these avenues that verbal simply doesn't cut it...

@fairystar -- I'll add to Williams question -- do you believe that the Bible is the Word of God? Lots of people read God's Word but don't necessary believe it's His Word or take it's contents seriously.

And I Prefer face to face conversation, but that's not always possible. Email is another Big form of communication. Body language is a big part of communication. Body language Can be communicated fairly well by using emoticans or BIG type to express Strong / Emphatic thoughts.

There was an individual that I was on email with some time ago -- he knew how to communicate feelings, thoughts Very well via his keyboard.

Nothing 'wrong' with you -- all of us have various strengths and weaknesses.

Some people prefer talking in person as opposed to on the phone. They also don't like email, texting etc. My dad and Father in law would be among that number. Nothing wrong with it at all. As myself any form of communication is fine. Still nothing beats face to face human contact.

I prefer face to face also but do not limit myself to it. Everybody has different personalities and preferences. Most certainly there is nothing wrong with you.
