John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Yes, we have four cats (which seems to be at least two too many!)

I have a bloodhound and an african Grey

That seems a fun combination. Do they get along with each other?

Yes it is a fun combination,my dog Ruby, she will want to play with my bird Dwight, but Dwight all he wants to do is bite Ruby's nose,I think Ruby has learned her lesson not to go to Dwight's cage.

I have a wild Kookaburra fly down to my arm in the morning and I feed him, give him a pat and he flies off. He's a low maintenance and low responsibility pet.

I have two small poodles my wife let me keep when we got divorced.  They are awesome and excellent company.

We have two dozen chickens which really aren't pets for me, but are to my wife.

I have my dog Cooper. She and I are tight. I just came in from a long hike in the rain and mud with her.

We both thought it a blast.
