John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

I really do not understand your question.

But,

Could you define Jewish for me?

God bless,

William

No, it is not rude. It is how you identity yourself based on your religious affiliation.

And if you're consistent with your religion it reveals a lot about you.

God bless,

William

It is certainly not rude. But, you may want a friendly warning, that people on this board WILL try to convert you. They would be terrible Christians if they didn't! But the Church proposes, She does not impose.

I hope that any attempts made to convert you are done courteously and with all due respect. But attempts will be made. If you are not in the mood to be converted, I ask you to be considerate of our need to fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28.

That having been said, I hope that all my Christian brethren here will be kind to this visitor to our little corner of cyber-space. Judaism, although I disagree with it, has many aspects to it that are quite admirable. After all, our Lord was a Jew.

Hi, Tony!

I am Jewish too, and a Christian since 1993. You are not the only one :-)
