John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Do you realize that shipments of relief supplies were sent to Puerto Rico? The Teamsters (Union) are striking and not delivering relief shipments because they want more pay.

Yes, I've been watching all of it on Fox News. The last we've seen / heard was that all the trucks with supplies were waiting for fuel needed to get trucks into the interior parts of the island. Due to the conditions of the roads but are now able to get supplies to distribution sites closer to the people. My brother is down there living. Last we've heard he was in a shelter 'somewhere'. The interior areas are Not in good shape at all.

Part of the problem is that the 1st hurricane wasn't as bad as predicted so the people thought they could ride This one out, also. This particular tropical Paradise has become anything But a paradise -- more like "'someplace no one wants to end up in"'. That's how my brother referred to the beach of San Juan where he lived -- his little piece of Paradise.

Greed is horrible.
