John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

GOD Is A Divorcee

GOD Is A Divorcee!

Deu 24:1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. Deu 24:2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. Deu 24:3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; Deu 24:4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.[/color]

Read that and make sure that you know that the LAW says that if you divorce your wife that you CANNOT remarry her or be with her again! You CAN'T take her back! That is THE LAW!

Rom 7:2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

Rom 7:3 So then if, whileher husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Now, look at this! It is where GOD divorces Israel:

Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

So, you see, GOD divorced Israel! Do you see it?

Now, according to the Law, Israel is divorced and that is because Israel (and Judah) played the harlot by worshipping other gods and forming their own religions. Israel cheated on GOD! Therefore, since GOD divorced Israel and Israel was with another (harlot), GOD can't remarry Israel!

..Unless GOD dies.

When JESUS (which is GOD in the flesh (Immanuel, which means GOD WITH US!) died, Israel was free to remarry. So, now GOD can take her to wife because HE died and rose from the dead and lives again. So, Israel can now be The Bride Of CHRIST!

Rev_1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead ; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Note: When GOD compares marriage with CHRIST and the Church, HE is showing us how HE feels by relating it to something that produces great emotion in us! GOD HAS similiar emotions to us, but GOD is Supernatural. Supernatural means more natural, therefore it goes without saying that GOD has more intense emotions than we do. So, when GOD compares HIS Love for us to marriage and family, we can see how HE feels when we go astray.

Also, when GOD is speaking of idolatry (idol worship) (and yes, there is idol worship today) (anything you put between you and GOD is idol worship, it can be your house or car or anything) (the worst idol worship of all is when GOD'S children fall away to satan when he gets here) (satan is the worst idol of all idols) (are you going to idolize satan? Who knows, maybe satan will be on American Idol).

It is my opinion that since GOD divorced Israel and also that the Church is The Bride Of CHRIST, that it may not necessarily be that GOD only compares HIS relationship to us with marriage and family, but that the very marriage and family love and relationships we all know so well are actually patterned after what we were, and will be familiar with again in Heaven.

Another note: Don't worry if you are divorced! Since JESUS died for our sins, if you divorced, when you repent and ask for forgive in JESUS NAME, your slate is wiped clean. It is as if you never divorced at all! Divorce is NOT the unforgiveable sin!

Look at Matthew 19:3-12. Now, the carnal marriage is a shadow of the spiritual marriage between the marriage of the church and the Lamb (Jesus). Man has defiled the carnal marriage, Jesus has not defiled anything. Rightly divide the word of truth of else the word can be used to create false doctrine, which is blasphemy. The marriage supper of the Lamb is with the church (all believers), as we all are parts of the body of Christ and our bodies each a temple of God, wherein God the Holy Spirit resides.

    • Help with the concept of "feared God"

Hello everyone, I was doing some reading of the scriptures in Exodus 1:15-21. The saying "feared God" came up and it really got my attention. It should be a simple concept to understand, but I really feel like I need help understanding it. I know proverbs 1:7a states "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge," yeah I feel very dense to really grasp what that fear means or looks like.  I seen there are some really smart people here. Like to ask for any help on the subject plea
