John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

The Trump administration has rescinded the Obama administration’s transgender bathroom directive for public schools.

On Wednesday afternoon, ChristianHeadlines.com reported that the Trump administration was considering rescinding the directive, which happened as soon as Wednesday night.

The Obama administration had issued the directive to schools, based on their interpretation of Title IX which states, "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

The Trump administration, however, stated that this is an issue that should be left up to the states to decide individually.

A letter sent to schools on Wednesday by the Justice and Education Departments said that while "All schools must ensure that all students, including LGBT students, are able to learn and thrive in a safe environment,” states should take the “primary role” in establishing appropriate policies, according to ABC News.

The new education secretary, Betsy DeVos, also weighed in on the issue: "We have a responsibility to protect every student in America and ensure that they have the freedom to learn and thrive in a safe and trusted environment. This is not merely a federal mandate, but a moral obligation," said DeVos.

It's a great relief that President Trump has left the decision to every state and school to leave the bathroom arrangements alone! Transgenderized bathrooms for all sexes, young and old, can now be denied and disproved by morally guided individuals in schools and states to ensure the freedom of and safety for EVERY child who does not want to participate in the use of a bathroom that is used by his/her opposite gender. Meaning, LGBQT, must suck it up if their states cannot afford additional expense to build transgenderized bathrooms apart from appropriate Male or Female bathrooms.

It only really affects the T grouping of LGBQT. The other group affected are people born Intersex who don't have an assigned gender.

I am rather surprised about the debate over toilets in the US. The normal bathroom system over here is male, female, and then seperate either-gender single stall bathrooms for the disabled or people who may need them. They are about twice the size and you'll often get parents with young children using them (until the children are old enough to use the adult bathrooms on their own) as it means not having children running round outside the stalls where parents can't keep an eye on them. It is also easier if you're out with a child of the opposite sex, as they can use the stall while the parent waits outside. Doesn't the US have the extra single-stall system, which would solve the whole issue very quickly?

I don't believe they do, at least not the state I live in. The only other choice is a smaller sized bathroom that's referred to as the "family" bathroom. That's it.

We have the single-stalls in most public parks, malls, some churches and a few other areas. You're right, these kinds of bathrooms are more cost effective and practical than building new bathrooms in every public school (within designated state).
