John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

California Gets a Trillion Gallons in Fresh Rainwater and Tosses it in the Ocean

Recommended Posts

California just received enough fresh rainwater to entirely end the drought and still set some aside for later, but they still continue to dump water in the ocean for a bait fish.

Liberals have a tendency to do more harm than good, especially when it comes to micromanaging the environment. Every year, California sends full amounts of rainwater out into the ocean.

A giant swath of what used to be called, “the breadbasket of the world” is a desert because Sacramento with the help of Washington refuses to divert water to the farmland.

They got a lot of water this last week, yet with the constant releasing of extra water out the Delta into the ocean, it will not be long before it is all gone.

They have saved over 350 Billion Gallons of water, but are already discussing excuses to release it and lower the water level in the reservoirs. The series of storms already has added 33 billion gallons of water to Lake Tahoe alone.

When will Californian’s wake up and remove the ultra-liberal powerhouse in Sacramento? It has been going on for years now and no one can seem to change this water management method? Turn the water back on in the southern San Joaquin Valley?

It will be so sad to watch much of this water blessing California received be poured right into the ocean over the next few months.

Representative Devin Nunes, (CA) described the San Joaquin Valley situation in the WSJ back in 2009.

“Tens of thousands of people have been tossed out of work—the town of Mendota alone has an unemployment rate of about 40%—and the lines for food donations stretch down streets. The reason? There isn’t enough water to go around this year, and the Obama administration is drawing up new reasons to divert more of it from farms and people and into the San Francisco Bay.
Today the San Joaquin Valley is being transformed into a dust bowl. Hundreds of thousands of acres are fallow, while almond and plum trees are being left to die in the scorching sun.”

But it has gotten worse. Just as California receives this deluge, State Water Resources Control Board wants to raise the amount that California throws away!

The LA Times reports:

The State Water Resources Control Board wants to raise the flow of the San Joaquin and the tributary Merced, Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers to 40 percent of their natural flow during the critical spring months.

But that target seems only to have angered both sides in the debate.
; farmers and leaders in the valley
their economies.

“You are the grim reaper,” Assemblyman Adam Gray, whose district includes Merced, told members of the board at one of a series of public hearings in the San Joaquin Valley this month.

“Water is life in this region, and you appear to have no other purpose than to take that life away.”

Insanity!

Hi William, if you know, what is it that makes dumping rainwater back into the ocean more "environmentally sound" than allowing it to be used to irrigate the farmland in CA?

Also, we used to get a lot of our produce from CA here in the Midwest, especially in the winter. Now I've noticed that a lot of it comes in from other countries, like most of our apples, for instance, are Chilean. Do you think that this also the result of trying to make CA more "environmentally sound"?

Thanks!

Our water bills have gone up because people are using less water and conserving it - believe it or not that was the reason for raising our bills, lemme repeat that, people are conserving and using less water, that is reverse of Capitalism - they are getting rid of the supply and justifying the higher costs. It is a matter of supply and demand. With recent rain fall the supply has gone up without much demand, if I were to assign a motive to the liberals in California, I'd be willing to bet that it's nothing more than "hoarding" a natural resource and regulating it in order to profit from it.

God bless,

William

This is just -- I want to say unbelievable, but we are so clearly in the End Times, and as God is pushed out of the culture, satan is filling the void with a deception that the unsaved can't seem to resist. Every year, things just get weirder!

You know, I have sadly come to believe that is probably true. As Dinesh D'Souza said about Hillary in his last movie, if you want to know what liberals are really up to, "follow the money" :(

Modern Liberals are on the wrong side of every issue.

This is a sad fact that I have also come to believe is true, and I see the truth of it more and more every day :(

Hi Meg, as I said above (and William before me) if you find out what's really behind the decisions they're making, then it all seems to make sense. And the best place to start is to find out who will benefit/profit from these decisions, then you'll find out the real reason behind the insanity. Follow the money!

I began to realize this was true when I found out that Justice Scalia's last Supreme Court decision, the one he made just prior to his untimely death, cost President Obama and his "climate change" cronies trillions of dollars.

Why do liberals do what they do? Follow the $$ :(

If I were the type of person who believes in conspiracy theories that would make me wonder if his death was the result of natural causes. ;)

His family did not pursue it or choose to have the recommended autopsy performed (something I always believed was required in cases like this one). In fact, I thought the decision was not the families, and that an autopsy was required by law, but the DoJ decided not to enforce it or pursue it in any way, so there you go.

We will never know for sure now, therefore natural causes must be assumed.
