John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

:) (we need a "Thumbs up" emoji)

I'll look into expanding the Emojis in the near future. I can put hundreds of them from a list selection including animated ones. But do we really want all those distractions?

God bless,

Philippians 4

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

The gospel is what makes a balanced Christian, something that there are far to few of in the world. ;)

I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, which keeps me from thinking too highly of myself.

I am so loved that He was glad to die for me, which keeps me from feeling like a worm. (see what I did there?) ;)
