Community Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Astronomy Videos In Churches

Recommended Posts

Is it advisable that we should show astronomy videos in church to demonstrate what the Bible teaches us? The Bible doesn't talk much about stars and planets but we can use the materials from astronomers to show that God's creation is vast, as indicated in the Bible.

It really just depends on the purpose of the content. If you are using it to honor God, then I don't see a problem with it, but if you are using it to push some sort of doctrine I would be very careful about any integesis.

I think it would depend on whether the videos were made by Christian organizations such as Answers in Genesis for the purpose of showing that science supports the Bible or by secular organizations that deny that God created the universe.
