Christian Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Anyone seen "The Life of Brian"?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to hear some peoples opinion on the film "The Life of Brian"

Never seen it. Heard about it. Wonder why they didn't make it about Muhammad?

Saw it when I was atheist. If you are a Christian, it will be a bit insulting to you. Otherwise to a non-believer it is a (not-mild) parody.

As a non-believer, saw it and it was funny. As a believer, I see it as a mockery of God, who said He will not be mocked: Galatians 6:7 KJV Also, He is not to be joked about: Ephesians 5:4 KJV
