John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Jesus don't attends services at Mega Churches

Most of them are just giving a normal concert show, where people go to join the crowd and to feel good. Stay away, and find a smaller good local bible preaching church. Where people are getting Saved then baptized.

Not sure what band was playing when Christ fed the 5000 or even if there was a band. He didn’t seem to mind large groups, at least not on these occasions.

Mat, 14:20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Mark, 8:9 So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments. Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away, immediately got into the boat with His disciples, and came to the region of Dalmanutha.

I like a smaller group, they seem to provide a more personal setting where one can get to know others. That doesn’t mean I’m adverse to Christian concerts, or Christian singers. Have you heard any Keith Green, Don Francisco or Amy Grant before she went mainstream? I think if you gave them a listen, you would find it impossible to fault:

 Amy Grant         El Shaddai

Keith Green       Make my life a prayer to you

Don Francisco    He' Alive

In Christ

Just maybe Jesus was the first mega church preacher 😄

Mat 14:14  And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Mat 14:21  And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

@E Morales I have resisted since Tuesday .. I could not deny the humor .. Trust me i am small church oriented..

Hey Becky listen to those three songs. I guarantee you will love them if you don't already. I'm convinced they were co-written by the Spirit of God.

He did draw a crowd, but Moses leading the people out of Egypt may have Him beat as far as numbers and order of time.

Listen to the songs Becky...

Many came to eat, and to here Him speak,  then each went on their own ways. No offering or tithes were taken. Many were Saved, Is this happening today?

And 3,000 were saved at Pentecost.  Perhaps the church in Jerusalem was the first megachurch.

Where does the text say that?  There is nothing in the passage that suggest the crowed had any expectation of being fed.

Score one for @islandrazor 🙂

Had the pleasure years ago of hearing Amy perform  live El Shaddai in a small church setting. 🙂 He is alive gives ya chills .. I will listen to the other. I also like Carman's music.

To my heart/head there is a huge difference between what i term, Jesus pep rally, music and worship music.. Both have their place.

Minor correction, we love to eat during the service when we partake of communion.

Loving to eat after can't be compared to Baptist though:
