John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

2020 presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “racist” who has sided with a “far-right racist party” on Sunday.

The remarks were made to reporters after a campaign rally in Iowa, during which the former Democratic Texas U.S. Representative was asked about the conflict in the region, according to a CNN report.

“I don’t think Benjamin Netanyahu represents the true will of the Israeli people or the best interests of the U.S.-Israel relationship, or any path to peace for the people of the Palestinian Authority, the Gaza Strip, and the state of Israel.” O’Rourke said of the Israeli leader, who has been re-elected four times.

“And it must be able to transcend a prime minister who is racist,” he went on, “as [Prime Minister Netanyahu] warns about Arabs coming to the polls, who wants to defy any prospect for peace as he threatens to annex the West Bank, and who has sided with a far-right racist party in order to maintain his hold on power.”

O’Rourke went on to endorse a two-state solution as the “best opportunity for the full human rights of everyone who is living in that region.”

His comments seek to establish the candidate’s position within the ongoing debate between President Trump and Democrats over Israeli policy and the president’s support of Netanyahu, who visited the White House in March. During their meeting, Trump signed a proclamation recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israel.

The discussion comes before Israeli elections are held Tuesday, where Netanyahu hopes to secure a historic fifth term in office and has campaigned on his strong ties with Trump, who voiced his support of the prime minister Saturday in a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition, “I stood with your prime minister at the White House to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” according to the Associated Press.

Netanyahu’s opponent is former Chief of the Israeli General Staff Genny Gantz.

I would say that being elected 4 times is a pretty good indication that he does represent the "true will" of the majority of Israeli voters ... and are Israelis and Palestineans different races?  I get it that a conservative Israeli Prime Minister does not represent the best interests of Liberal Democrats in North America, but criticism should at least have some basis in reality.  This is more like something out of Orwell's 1984 ... "ignorance is strength", anyone?

So, based on this logic that would make Beto a racist, right?  Just trying to follow the bouncing ball.

Did I indicate that he was one ? I had no intentions of letting race enter the picture. I do think that he could use some professionalism in his speeches and be more serious on the more vital subjects . Like severing foreign relationships with communist dictators. I don't want some presidential hopeful telling me about taxing the rich to spread the wealth so everyone can take residence in the mansion of their choice . In truth the man looks like he would fit well in a mental ward at the local hospital. He talks and says nothing that interest me at all .   M

Yes, and I wonder what they will do this time around when most of the democrat hopefuls are potentially  socialist ?

Don't know.   Shapiro is correct about his numbers.  The majority of them lean left, many very far to the left.

This is all about how we define a Jewish person. 1) Jew = Judaism? 2) Jew = Citizen of the modern nation of Israel? 3) American Jew =  American citizen in Judaism? 4) American Jew = An American citizen which migrated from the modern nation of Israel?

None of the above definitions actually prescribe a "race" to the Jewish person but rather Jewishness is defined by Religious identity or Geography.

Shapiro is speaking of Jews in terms of ethnicity who are American citizens.

I am not saying that you are saying that.  I am just drawing a slightly facetious conclusion from the article.

There are geological divisions of Texas and mention one and any studied Texan can tell you their predominant political stance.  O'Rorke O'rorkeis from East Texas where they drag their men of color down the highway behind their 1951 Ford or Chevy locked to the Trailer Hitch with 3/8" Trace Chains until he ceases screaming.  I detect much of that same doctrine buried under Beto's hate speech.  Aren't Liberals more fun to watch than a Goofy film?

I kind of hope the people are taken in by this Bozo and vote him in for 2020 . Just to show the people how ignorant they are in electing a fool for a president . But that probably won't work since almost everyone knows what a terrible mistake they made by electing a fool for eight long agonizing years .  I hope the people get their act together and vote Mr. Trump back in office . If we don't then we deserve having an idiot that rides a skateboard and gathers his electorate at the local Starbucks !   M

Liberals aren't necessarily fun to watch . Actually they are downright dangerous to be around . So far I haven't heard a single democrat offer one solid thing that would show that they are more interested in the well being of the people than they are in trying to beat up on President Trump. I have to wonder what their electorates must be like. Scratching their butts while picking their noses ,,,,,yea,,,that's dem !!!
