John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Biden Plays The White Misogynistic Man Apology Card

Former Vice President Joe Biden said last night he regretted the way he treated Anita Hill during the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in 1991.

Biden acknowledged his role in the hearings, behavior which has come under scrutiny as he positions himself to enter the presidential race, according to the New York Times. The remarks were made during the “Biden Courage Awards Ceremony” in New York.

In his emotional appeal, Biden said that Hill’s testimony was courageous. “She was abused through the hearing. She was taken advantage of. Her reputation was attacked,” he said. “We knew a lot less about the extent of harassment back then. It was over 30 years ago.”

As Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Biden believed he helped foster a tone that was “hostile and insulting.”

“I wish I could have done something. But I also realized there was a real and perceived problem the committee faced. We were a bunch of white guys hearing this testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee.”

“To this day, I regret I couldn’t come up with a way to get her the kind of hearing she deserved given the courage she showed by reaching out to us.”

Biden, who has not officially announced his candidacy for the 2020 Democratic nomination, is widely expected to enter the race. There is speculation that he may select failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams as his running mate to counter the perception that Biden represents the older establishment, according to Axios.

During his remarks, Biden stressed the need to “change the culture,” sharing the history of the term “rule of thumb,” which according to Biden was derived from an english common law issued in the 1300s to reduce the number of fatal wife-beatings and instructed men to not use rods thicker than the circumference of their thumb.

‘This is english jurisprudential culture. A white man’s culture,” he emphasized.

The phrase ‘rule of thumb’ is often invoked to demonstrate early misogyny but its etymology has been debated, according to New York Magazine.

The 76-year-old Biden, also a former senator from Delaware, has been polling as the leading favorite for the Democratic nomination.

Biden is now being accused of making some improper advances on various women.

The episode, recounted by Democrat Lucy Flores, highlighted an aspect of Biden’s persona that has been publicly known for years: the affectionate whispers, hugs and shoulder squeezes he has long doled out to women, often on camera and at high-profile public events...

“I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. ‘Why is the vice president of the United States touching me?’” she wrote. “He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head.”

Biden spokesman Bill Russo said the former vice president doesn’t remember kissing Flores.

Should we approach this allegation the same way we did with Brett Kavanaugh? We ought to be consistent, right?

I think he's creepy, as well. He feels the need to kiss every woman on the cheek, hug her close when a handshake would be fine in a professional setting. If he ends up elected as our next President, I told my husband we should consider moving to Canada. lol

I also think he's a racist.
