John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

For the first time in nearly ten years I will be preaching on Sunday. Due to many health issued I was prevented from preaching, si I feel so blessed to be able to preach.

I would sincerely appreciate a prayer for me as I prepare. I will be preaching from Col. 1:9-15. Thank you for caring for me so much. God bless.

Thank You all for your prayers.

After being asked at 10 am. Friday I prayed for an hour and then started my study, Colossians 1:9-14 was my text, title "A LETTER OF ENCOURAGEMENT"  I spent from 11 am. Friday to 1 am. Saturday and then from 9 am Saturday to 2:30 am Sunday preparing my sermon. I broke for lunch and dinner and a few brakes. All total of more that 26 to 28 hours in preparing for a 30 minuet sermon. I relied on the Holy Spirit to guide me and praying for wisdom along the way. I believe prayer and study is the main ingredients  in preparation of a sermon.. After I have been obediant in being ready I trust the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of the people.
I had a good number of people saying they were encouraged by my sermon. I was asked if the next time the pastor was out sick or on other occasions If I would be willing to fill in.  For myself I was blessed to fill in for our dear pastor. Yes I would fill in again.  God blessed us all.
