John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Don't worry, Revelation speaks bout the return of the king!

Surely, Jesus will be playing the king's background music. I can see Elvis now with microphone in hand, bump'n bass and pump'n treble levels with his canary voice while Jesus wrecks havoc and displays wrath for his coming glory!

Glory Glory Hallelujah!!!

Don't know. Maybe there will be plenty of Cavemen resurrected on the Last Day?

Captain Caveman!, "Soli Deo Gloria"!

I can hear them (cavemen) now, risen at last, risen at last!

    • 1599 Geneva Bible

I personally love this Bible. I have had mine for about 4 months now, and can't imagine reading without it. The notes are so helpful, and really give great insight to the Word. I love the old English, it really adds a poetic element, making it much easier to memorize.    Your thoughts? Like or Dislike?  Would love to have discussion!    God Bless!

    • Study: Statements Made With Clapping Hand Emojis Cannot Be Refuted

CAMBRIDGE, MA—A groundbreaking peer-reviewed study published today in the journal Social Media Research found that statements made with a clapping hand emoji placed between each word are impossible to refute. While the study revealed that placing a clapping hand emoji “here and there” in your text makes it harder to refute, placing the emoji between every single world results in 100% irrefutability. • Favorite Non-English Bible Verse?

By that, I mean a, translation of course. Is there any non-English translation of the Bible that contains a particularly interesting or moving passage?   One I love from the Luther BIble is: "Und Jesus gingen die Augen über." (John 11:35)   It is rather poetic German meaning "And Jesus' eyes overflowed." The English translation is normally rendered "Jesus wept."   How about you? Thanks for sharing. :)

    • Bible chapters and verses that I would change

I am not referring to the words of the Bible, but how these words were arranged in chapters and verses. I think many are okay, but there are several places I would change.  For example:    Colossians 4:1  I would prefer to have Colossians chapter 3 continue beyond verse 25. v. 18 "fitting in the Lord" v. 20 "well-pleasing to the Lord" v.  22 "fearing the Lord" v. 23 "work heartily, as for the Lord" v. 24 "it is the Lord Christ, whom you serve"
