John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

PENSACOLA, FL—Local believer Michael Frederick, who has never shared the gospel with anyone in his entire life, posted a Facebook comment Monday in which he criticized recently martyred missionary John Allen Chau's "lack of wisdom" in how he approached the violent North Sentinelese people.

There shouldn't exist places on earth like that anymore. Anyone gets lost in a sea storm and ends up there is certain to be slaughtered.

As Christians we are to preach the gospel to everyone.

Murder is unacceptable anywhere. This place should be forcibly conquered and civilized.

    • The confusion of Dale Tuggy concerning the worship of Jesus as God

Dale Tuggy denies the Lord Jesus is God, but affirms that He is the proper recipient of worship.    Concerning the worship that the Lord Jesus receives in Revelation 5 Dale affirms:  In short, the Lamb (Jesus) is worshiped because of his unique service to God. There is not any confused and confusing statement here about Jesus being "worshiped as God.”  https://trinities.org/blog/worship-of-jesus-worship-of-god-and-the-fulfillment-fallacy/    Dale ought to make himse

    • If people willingly deny Jesus, could they ever be saved?

I have a few friends who are atheists, and are indifferent to the Gospel. They know it, they were once theists in some cases, but they reject the idea of Christianity, as a whole concept. They sometimes play with the idea that ''a god'' exists, but not a personal God, and Jesus is ''just another prophet,'' in their eyes. If they live relatively decent lives, being kind to others, etc...can they be saved? Or asking it another way, will all people who willingly reject Jesus, spend eternity in hell

    • Jesus refers to the Father as "my God" (John 20:17; Revelation 3:12)

John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’” (NASB)  Some who deny the Lord Jesus is God will cite John 20:17[*1] and affirm that the Lord Jesus can not be God because He referred to the Father as "My God." However, Thomas also referred to the Lord Jesus as "my God" in John 20:28 which demonstrates that the Lord Jesus is God.
