Community Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Hello, from a new believer, inquirer.

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just came out of the Roman Catholic Church. I was baptized as a baby and I grew up Catholic.

Now, I am a new Bible believing Christian. I have inquired into Eastern Orthodoxy. I have also used ChristianForums. But I came here so there won't be any interruptions from people in the Catholic church and cults.

Most of my family is still Catholic and I live with my parents, who are Catholic.

I go to an Intraversity Bible study group at college. I'm hoping to be with a good fellowship of believers of Christians.

My hobbies are fishing, swimming, diving, watching anime, reading the Bible, and reading manga.

I also happen to have autism by the way.

Point noted, and you have come to the right place.

Hope your fellowship here is fruitful.

God bless,

William
