Community Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Lauren Daigle on the Ellen Show

When I first heard news of this I was a little confused, but that was the fleshly side of me.  Then I started seeing some of the bizarre reactions from Christians about this.  On the surface I am confused why Ellen Degeneres would invite a Christian Contemporary singer onto her show, though as some people have pointed out, Ellen has been known to show more Christ-like behavior than many Christians.  Though, at least for now, her motivations make those actions in vain.  On the other hand God can use anything toward His perfect will.  So, what are the reactions from this community?  Are we joining in on the hypocritical backlash, or are we praising God that his message was broadcast to millions of people, despite the original intent of the host of the show?

Ellen Degeneres has been known to boot Christians from off her show while calling them many nasty names. I'll leave you to determine for yourself why Ellen may possibly invite Christians to her show if she humiliates them in front of millions and promotes the LGBT agenda.

I generally don't watch her show, for obvious reasons, but if that is her mo then it does make it even more confusing as to why she would invite Lauren on, unless her original intent was to humiliate her.

No doubt God can use evil for His purposes. Perhaps it is God's will to either put Lauren to the test for everyone to witness who or what she professes in front of millions when promoting her music or maybe to show millions how people like Ellen treat His children?

Does anyone think Ellen has as much control to act out her desires as God has over His providence?

They say hindsight is 20/20. Perhaps we'll have a better perspective once this is all behind us.

God bless,

William
