Community Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Travel Section?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if a "Travel" section would be of any interest?

It would interest me, but I wonder if others would like it? I have lived in several Asian countries and lived in several US states, travelled through quite a few as well.

Generally travelers like to post pictures of their travels and then comment on them. My first thoughts were the Member's Gallery. As a Premium Member Faber, you can create an album in the Member's Gallery, "Faber's Travels" and upload pictures to that particular album and comment on them.

Your thoughts?

I see.

I am not big on photos. Feel that people just brag on and on too much about where they were. I was thinking just a place to exchange information, travel tips, what to see, dangers to avoid, best flights, funny stories, etc.

Lemme consider this and some time to consider it. I pretty much am convinced the "Lounge" would be the best place to post these threads. I'm not sure how much activity a sub-forum dedicated to traveling might fill.

Do you see anything wrong with using the Lounge? Right now the Lounge category forum description reads, "A Christian forum to join in general communication with people from around the world." That could be expanded upon. We're not really large enough for this idea to occur yet, but eventually I'd hope that members meet members during their travels or they hook up if they live by each other. I've even thought about helping this personal engagement by including an opt in map of member church locations etc where they could safely meet but quite honestly with regard to liability I'm a little nervous about that.

I think the best way at the moment would just be to use the Lounge and expand on its description. Any suggestions?

I think this would be good.

Premium members can start clubs if I'm not mistaken.
